The people. Everyone has a story! I am fascinated by other people's stories.
I basically like to write what what I like to read & what readers would enjoy. I use the popular fiction style of the mystery genre which is universally popular world wide & add a touch of the paranormal for a little twist.
The characters that come to me.
In all honesty myself. I create the stories for fun and to take my mind away from the stresses of the day, and I know that if I can enjoy and live the story, feel the story happen then I know that others can as well.
That varies. Sometimes I have a great idea that I would like to share, whoever reads it. At other times, I tailor my work towards a special friend or relative who I feel might enjoy reading it.
Me I guess. Getting published is difficult, even when you've been published before. If I wrote just what the publishers wanted my stories would lack the passion required for readers to enjoy them.
I write for myself. I am the main link. Without me, the rest of the chain falls apart. Writing makes me stronger.
For myself of course, but I wouldn't admit it.
Others are welcome to read and enjoy. It goes without saying. Oh yes and in the case of an audience willing to pay good hard cash - I thank you!

If I have my choice, I write the things I want to read, and hope others want to read them too. As a professional author, I also write commission work, which may or may not be to my taste. I write for a living, so, as well as readers, I must keep editors, librarians, teachers, booksellers, and reps in mind.

When I started writing, it was for myself. I found it an effective way to put my emotions down on paper & it helped me to sort out my mixed emotions on more than one occassion. These days I write both for myself & my son, who enjoys the stories that I write.
