Are you equally good at telling stories orally?
Yes. I've told stories all my life. My grandmother used to say I was a natural born liar.
It depends on how much time I have to prepare before the telling of the tale.
I would like to think so. I don't have much of a chance to tell stories orally.
I am a bit of a hermit because I like it that way at this point in my life. I would rather read and write than interact with groups of people. A small few people is what I like. I am uncomfortable in groups where I don't know the people.
I write long stories, never tried to tell one orally.
Yes. In fact, I think that the stories I tell orally are better than those I write.
I'd have to answer "No" on that one. I find myself getting tongue-tied when I attempt to tell a story or even a joke.
No. I am terrible at actually speaking. My tongue gets all tied up and I stutter...it's really terrible.
I don't get a chance to do it much anymore, but as a child, I was often asked to read stories to younger children in school. I loved it.
I've done two private speaking engagements at alcoholic rehabilitation centers. They lasted 45 minutes. The director told me that it was the best talk they ever heard at the location.
February 7, 2007, I'm doing another talk at the Catholic women's organization called "Magnificat." It will be held at the Providence Marriott Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island. It will be at their breakfast function with over 200 women and a priest...gulp!
This will be a good test for me in front of so many people.
Absolutely...I am a full time pastor. i preach min of three services per week, and I travel extensively preaching at Churches all over the USA.
No.
No
I am told that I am.
I think I'm equally as good at telling stories orally because the person listening can hear the inflections in my voice and facial expressions. I try to bring that to my writing, but am not always as successful with that as I'd like to be.
My wife says I am, but I am a fast reader and often read to quickly for her. I suspect I could be a better teller of tales, if I slowed down a bit and tried. |
