Are you equally good at telling stories orally?
It all depends on the story. If it's a short one, I don't have trouble. If it's a long one...forget it.
I believe that I am. I love to tell stories to the children at the libraries, and the parents seem to enjoy it too.My grandchildren always want a story, though the have kids of their own.
Sometimes. It depends on how badly I have to vomit or want to get drunk. I work better with smaller groups of people, or one-on-one. Orally is an excellent word.
No. In fact, I'm very poor at oral story-telling. Before I began writing in earnest, I used to have characters talking to me in my head and would sometimes shut myself in the bathroom so I could talk to them without sounding crazy to anyone else. Once I began to put them into words on paper, though, they no longer roil around in my mind. I'm also a better writer than I am a conversationalist. I've often wondered if that comes from the fact my father was totally deaf by the time I was born and so all conversations I had with him were written on my end. He carried around a long yellow legal paid and an always-sharp pencil. And we did "talk" this way often.
I'd like to think so. I'm an introvert, so writing comes more naturally for me. People tell me that I'm funny, though, so I guess there's a bit of a story-teller there.
I'm really good at oral.
I have been told I am.
Yes.
When my children were small, they grew up on oral bunny stories before bedtime. I would say I was pretty good at making up spontaneous bunny stories. All with a resolveable conflict. Many times, I would take a conflict my children were having and make a story about it, not the exact conflict of course, but a similar one, so they could relate and come up with a peaceful solution to the problem.
I make the same mistakes telling stories as I do writing them. I get so focused in on the story that I get back on the ride again. I'm redundant. I wish I could say that I am good with telling a story.
I can tell a good story. I prefer writing, however, because I don't have as much experience telling stories orally.
Yes I am. I have given many lectures on Princesses Grace and Diana, and have recevied many compliments.
My ability to recount a story effectively depends upon my mood, the audience at hand and the setting in which we find ourselves.
No. That's a skill I just don't seem to have. |
