What is your favourite type of customer?
A client who trusts in my talent and expertise. A client who lets me do my job all the way to the end.
one who gives you creative freedom and pays on time.
The ones that are aware that they are not designers, and that is why the hire me.
Of course it's always great to have a client with a big budget, but I think the clients that I enjoy working with most are those who really want and appreciate your help and input. Clients with startups where you can help them build or expand their brand or clients with projects with goals to better the world. That's why it's great to be able to work with non-profist or cause-based work. I love to feel that my design has had some impact in the world and not just my pocket. ;-)
One who can see what we will offer them
Clients who understand that true creative excellence come with a price.
A couple of things:
- understanding of how design (or design companies) works
- a few ideas/outlines of where they want to go
- the ones that pay quickly
The ones who pay and are fun to work with.
One with money, allows me freedom
Clients that want to take calculated risks, that trust you but equally understand the value of clear information.
One that realises the value of good design (so is willing to pay the fee) and clients where there can be mutual trust and respect.
One that has all their content ready to go, replies to emails promptly, is generally friendly and pays on time.
In a client, if i see a person who is brave and dare unconventional solutions and is willing to invest into that design, he/she will be my dream client.
For the customer of my design, my favourite customer is a person who I capable of understanding and appreciating the work behind the product as well as the quality and the design it self.
The best kind of customer is one who has the courage for collaboration, and to allow the creative process to show results.
