What is your favourite type of customer?
Those that engage, respect the design process and lead well.
The ones that interact wividly and pay their bills.
People with money. =)
Definately one that has a vague direction rather than a set idea or no idea at all. They know what they want but they understand that the input of a designer will benefit them a lot more.
Someone who has the same ambition and creative eye as me.
I have only worked with churches and small businesses, I enjoy working with these people, but I would like to try working with large companies in the future.
One customer came to me simply with a picture of a lizard and I was able to create a piece for her based on that from scratch. I love people who have a single idea or point of inspiration. that I can then work on.
People with money but little vision or creativity of their own.
I love the client that wants something a bit different and edgy. I deal with many many brides who want pretty and black and ecru. It's cool when they want ecru ink on black envelopes or a scratchy font.
The ones who really appreciate what goes into a handmade piece. These are the ones who realize that they're purchasing a one-of-a-kind piece, something that isn't stamped out by a machine or that can be bought at just any chain store. They realize that a lot of thought, hours of work and lots of care goes into each and every piece.
My favourite type of customer is one who understands and respects what I do.
One that lets me do my job!
Who says: I want some such thing, but how to do so and will good. Klient who trusts me.
The one who trusts in my design skill. The one who acknowledges the skill and expertise of the trade and knows the value.
The ones that recognize good work, value what I do and pay on time. |
