What voice do you find most to your liking: first person or third person?

Whohub

I seem to use the third person voice the most, I like that it gives me more options. I think that every character in my books have something important to say.

First person, absolutely. I never write in third person if I can avoid it. I think half (or more) of the fun in the writing process is finding a new and exciting way to tell a story, a new perspective, a new way to play with tone and voice. I prefer to read first person, too--with the caveat that the first person narrator needs to be a character first, and not a thinly-veiled author insert peering at the story through long-range binoculars.

First. Which is why I write in first for my blog. However, I like the stretch of writing in third, so sometimes do for other works.

It depends on the type of story. When you read some of my work on my blog you will find that I use both types of pov.

I enjoy first person writing because it can be more powerful than an abstracted perspective.

I'm not too fussed because it depends on how well it's written and then how much the character talks to you. First voice can lead you into the character's learning stages and the second can be very fascinating.
All up like I said depends on the story.

I've used both in equal measure, and there are advantages and disadvantages to each.

First person.

First.

I think both have their advantages and disadvantages-- I tend to write in a mix of both. For example, while third person tends to take away (though not necessarily always) the "personal" nature of the story, it can also add the touch of a narrator.

I use all kinds of voices in my fiction. I use the second person singular a lot because it automatically draws the user into the story and lifts his/her disbelief. I use the third person plural when writing about doubtful group-think situations. I use the third person singular when I'm concentrating on plot and time shifts.

I prefer third person. First person seems rather limited with most of the subjects I enjoy writing about.

It kind of depends on the story for me as both can be used to their respective advantage. I actually prefer third person though. It's a bit easier for me to write in third person than it is in first.

It doesn't really matters to me. I like from both side, I choose which according to my story. I also like the idea of watching the whole story from just a bystander.

I like to hear the first person who read my work. I find it is fresh in there heads and I like everyone just to tell me the truth about my work, it helps me if they liked it or hated it.
