Although I read and enjoy fiction, my favorite genre is non-fiction, especially history (including history of science) and biography. You can see brief descriptions of three recent books of mine at averydangerouswoman.net
My favorite genre is probably tragicomedy. I love the work of Aaron Sorkin, Micheal Chambon, and Dave Eggers. I like things that are funny but still have some weight to them in a dramatic way.
My first published book, The Greatest Gift: The Reflections on International and Domestic Adoption, paperback, was written after the adoption of my son from Guatemala. First foray into book events, book touring. Looking for a new publisher currently. contact me for more info. In some libraries.
I write humor; that is my specialty. I write for an online mag at www.coloradolocallegends.com My columns run under the, "Hammer's Humor," icon on the front page. I also make fun of the astrological sciences in my ,"Hammerscopes." Hammer is my stage name. I am also a full-time drummer.
I have also written an action, adventure novel but have yet to find a publisher, or agent for that matter.
My favorite genre is non-fiction. The preface of my book can be found at www.walawisdom.com and a copy of the book can be ordered at the site.
Crime fiction seems to be my favorite genre as far as fiction is concerned. At present there are the notable blurbs on www.rockpublishing.com/Tinseltown.htm. I'm sure if you "Google" my name, there are other examples including a few profiles and pieces I wrote for The Waterbury Observer.
I write about health and education for a living, but for fun, I review audio books. You can see my reviews on http://chandlerazoo.blogspot.com. I also think health is pretty amusing and have a health humor site: http://healthsass.blogspot.com. To learn about me, check out: http://sunoasis.com/webjean.html.
I try not to write genre material, though I love fiction (short and long) and lately have come to love essays. Links?

Fantasy romance, which is really the combination of two genres. At least in my case.

My favorite genre is fiction. thomasseaman.blogspot.com It's not "Sean Seaman" because that blogspot name was already taken. I rarely post because no one read's it.
Mystery and suspense, though I use it in all the genres I write in. More about my books can be found at my site: http:/www.larriane.com
Fantasy and horror, and I enjoy blending the two genres together, at times. Some may call this dark fantasy, and perhaps it is. I also enjoy history (true history and historical fiction) and mythology. As for where you can read some of my work and learn more about other places and publications where you can find it, again, simply visit my website (http://www.jmdesantis.com).
That would be anything non-fiction. I cant write, or read non-fiction. You can see my work here:

I write mostly about things I have seen or heard. I like to read meaningful fiction, meaningful non-fiction, and meaningful poetry. For escape, I like the Jack Reacher series. For great stories, excellently written, give me something from Michael Ondaatje. I read a lot of current news stories, national and international. The internet reading is replacing hard copy now. I stay away from most TV soap operas. |
