Is the future of cinema the Internet? Mobile phones?
Yes but it will not be limited to mobile phones and tablets. Microsoft's Kinect 360 shows how interactive flat screen TV will also rise in prominence. The future will involve interactive (choose your own adventure) story lines. In many ways this already started.

The internet without a doubt.
Nowadays, a film can be released in cinemas, then go straight to DVD or VOD the next day. Netflix and Lovefilm are big hitters these days - people can watch films on their laptop on buses, trains etc.
Our films are almost exclusively distributed on the internet - sites like YouTube or Vimeo, and then we offer DVDs with special features or extended cuts, hoping that people will buy them.
The internet will be the TV-home-cinema, phones, iPads. Wherever, and whenever people want it. If you build global fans, and you want to get together with them for some events, then small indie theatres or portable theatres could help with that. But essentially it's all about the web and mobile devices for me.

I can say people will get sick out of being on the internet and watching small films that were meant to be seen big.
Look at Netflix or myspace or AOL. Whatever is next or whatever seems stable is what people stick with.
I hope not. I love hearing reactions from audiences..the oooh and ahhhs. or the laughs that's what make the movie even greater when the audience responds to it.
It will be the auditorium I don't think phones or internet can stop people wanting to go into a venue and experience it all together. I hope piracy doesn't hurt cinema but I don't think you can beat that human instinct to sit in a room as an audience. it stems from theatre, music hall etc.
cinema should be at home TV. would there be internet or mobile, but ideally shoud be on a home tv.
Yes, but it will not be limited to just the Internet and Moble phones. There are still many people who want to go to a theatre or some other venue and experience and see a movie. |
