What actor would you love to work with and what type of character would you propose to him/her as a challenge?
Clint Eastwood playing a gay man who is still in the closet. I'm not being facetious - I genuinely think that could be an Oscar winning movie.
I'd like to work with far too many actors to list any by name but the type of actor I like to work with is a committed actor who is not afraid to go there with material and reveal some truth or something unexpected in a scene to the audience.
There is one actress I always wanted to work with but never did before and hope I will soon. She is a young actress from my city Andrijana. I have a few roles for her for some short films.
I think James McCavoy, Mark Ruffalo and Andrew Garfield are some of the best young actors of this generation. I'd like to see James McCavoy in a quiet, painful and sinister character piece. I like his choices a lot.
Benedict Cumberbatch or Harrison Ford -- or maybe both!
I'd love to see Harrison Ford in a villainous role, as I think he could really do wonders with it. I'd like to maybe see him play a convict on death row, or a murderous psychopath.
As for Benedict - I'd like to see him playing a bookish character in some sort of comedy. I know he has comedy chops and I'd quite like to see him use them
Comedic actors like Zach Galifianakis or Louis CK would be fantastic to work with, as would dramatic actors like Daniel Craig or Andy Garcia.
I can't think of any actor in the world I would like to work with. Most come from the Hollywood corporate machine. I don't admire many anymore. I am more excited about characters, then finding the right actor for that character.
George Clooney, in a role completely counter-paradigm to those he's more or less "known" for.
No one specific I have been casting now for almost 20 years and what I like to see most is someone bringing a character to life that I'm casting , that' the most exciting part of my work.
Russell Crowe, Sigourney Weaver, Timothy Olyphant, Kate Beckinsale, Leonardo di Caprio, Christian Bale. Diane Lane.
Harrison Ford (against type--in a vulnerable role -- to prove he can act, and because I worked for him and have a soft spot for him!)
Harder to say with actresses: Natalie Portman is usually solid. Dianne Wiest. Diane Keaton. (A lot of Diane's).
Jack Nicholson. A King Lear type character maybe.
I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt's phenomenal. He's played a lot of diverse characters so I'd have to think more about what I'd want to see him do.
Benedict Cumberbatch playing an 'average human being.' I think he'd struggle a lot with that. |
