What actor would you love to work with and what type of character would you propose to him/her as a challenge?
I would love to work with the whole gang of actors in Judd Apatow's movies, but if I had to choose one actor specifically, it would be Brad Pitt. I feel I could challenge him in a role that's funny, but in a subtle way. I'd love to pull off a smaller film with Brad Pitt in the cast.
Johny Deep
I would love to work with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and I think he would be great if he could play Johnny, if Johnny the Homicidal Maniac was adapted into a movie.
Actors with background in theatre and i don't like proposing characters to actors. I always want to start from a blank page. I don't want to be caught in the situation of recycling characters.
I would love to work with BRAD PITT.
Character i would propose A BOY TURNS INTO FULL FLEDGED GIRL and rest of story I don't want disclose
Basically I like an actor that I found in my production cast audition, which is directly related to the character on our running script.
But okey, if you compelling me, I’d like to work with Salma Hayek for more touchy character in a rural Asian scenes. I imagine it will be great.
Alec Baldwin- Boss Tweed
Cuba Gooding, Jr. as Hitler.
I won't answer with an actor, but rather with an artist - I'd love to work with Erykah Badu, and I'd love to work with Lenny Kravitz. It would have to depend on the song, but I just feel it would be a great creative energy fusion. I'd like to do something with stark white desert and saturated blue skies, maybe water, for either of them. In fact, maybe they would have to collaborate on a song. Wow. That is daydreaming in action !
I wrote a script 5 to 6 years ago that I would have loved to have Shia LaBeouf play the lead role at the age he is now. I thought he showed a lot of talent, but didn't think he'd become a big star. I'd like to strip him of some of that movie stardom he's taken on, and become a regular guy again.
I love actors who are spontaneous and bring in things that i had thought of as options, things that are on my wish list. I also like it when character quirks are evolved for characters on the actors own volition. While briefing actors i like to tell them everything i know about them, sometimes it is almost impossible to encapsulate everything but as much information as possible ought to go to the actor. After all this the actor has to enter the world of the charcter that has been so designed.
A challenging character would be one entirely devoid of dialogues and given only few actions. To play out an internal struggle with a nuanced performance made up of little gestures would be great to work on at the edit table.
Will Smith as a serial killer.
Romain Duris, Rimbaud
This one is quite simple for me:
Nicolas Cage and the oddball character.
See Raising Arizona, Adaptation., Vampire's Kiss, Matchstick Men.
