PSYCHOLOGY

Which are the most common psychological problems of artists and creative people in general?

Anxiety, probably – too much of it, and in the wrong direction. Some anxiety is healthy, don't let it take the better of you.

I don't have research to hand on this. I would suspect they are more likely to suffer from "creativity gone haywire" conditions like schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder and the like but I haven't seen definititive research on this.

The BLOCK. As is the absence of Identity Resolution-IR, while the absence of the BLOCK, merely means, the personality of exile and its prime modality of "giving, to receive" is transactionally opeprative, until the next BLOCK. And that's been the framework limit(s) of man's exile for ouur creative folks to date, without exception.

Finding that right balance between too much introspection and being connected to a greater community. We can get lost in our art and creativity the rest of the world can pass us by.

They drive themselves mad by only focusing too much on their work. Not balanced enough.

Often the ego or merely taking themselves to serious

hm..that the audience is colour blind

This is not really my area of working, but as I know artists personally, their main problems could be an excess of individuality to be only focused in themselves, or even when there is too much creativity not to be connected with real life and creating their own world.

SEXUAL- PERVERSION

I would say that the most common are anxiety/stress, insomnia, autism, and depression. Anxiety/stress because there is always a project to do or a deadline to meet, and sometimes if an artist has a block it can become very stressful. Depression could be seen more in creativity through writing. Insomnia because an artists brain could constantly be thinking of things to do, ideas to create, etc. A lot of times in cases with people with autism they are really good at a particular art.

lack of certain chemicals and an overabundance of others. Most have some sort of psychosis.

Burn out is the most common problem of mental health practitioners. We must take care of ourselves psychologically and leave work at work. We must be so very careful to not allow our buttons to be pushed and take on our clients issues ourselves. It is a very difficult balance to find. Supervision or therapy for ourselves is crucial. Artists I believe tend to have difficulty taking care of themselves as well when they get involved in projects.
