Besides more financial resources, what do today's schools lack?
Commitment and dedication of human resources
the communication between the teacher and the goverment's decition
Opportunity to face the reality and truth.
Good teachers.
Prestige for the profession by the greater community.
Integration into society. Schools are far to isolated from the rest of life.
A strong support system for teachers, parents, students etc; Facility upgrades/renovations to the school system itself (classrooms, libraries, gyms etc). Strong representation of faculty/teachers that represent the diversity of the students in the classroom.
Today's schools lack a climate for exploration and learning at the pace of the student. We are overly concerned with covering all material that the student may see on the standardized tests, and have to move at breakneck speeds in order to do it.
There is also very little room/time for creativity.
human resources that help to nurture spiritual endowments and individual gifts of students
Throwing the spiritual aspect to minor level
Autonomy in the classroom. Teachers are overly concerned about teaching for test scores.
Secondly, more parental support. Parents need to be allies with their children's teachers, not oppose them if they don't like an assignment.
Children should have guidelines and parents should make sure they stick to them.
Teachers who have their students' best interests at heart.
I also find that many programs that inspire creative thinking through the arts are also being cut due to financial constraints.
Schools lack of vision and capacity and lack of collaborations
parental support.
Understanding of the dynamics that influence students before they get to the classroom. |
