What advice would you give to those just beginning?
Always keep smiling and empty your dinner plate!

It seems so easy and enthusiastic when you start something until someone tells you No or you get the barriers. Never stop believing in yourself and keep woking, try every possibility look aroud and search for the new information that might help you to grow in whatever you do!
Ask people what they think about your work and listen to the criticism they say, try to evaluate it but dont blindly change your work! It must be you in your work not them!
First off, never give up, there is enough of a market for everyone who truly wants it, to carve a niche'. Also, don't be afraid to ask someone a question. There is so much about the comic business I still have to learn, but I couldn't be where I am now without asking others how to get this far. And lastly, do not be afraid to fail, some of my best work comes from screwing up something else.

Keep on doing it. You learn as you go.
Prepare for a tough ride... exhilarating, uplifting, magnificent at times, but excruciatingly tough.
You will never reach a point when you know it all. Art is about growing...life is about growing. You are unlimited potential.
Find another career! :)
Just do it!! Ask if you dont know how to start. Join other artists. Find a mentor. Start with a blog and upload your work, share it with everybody..
Just know that as an artist, your mood will change often and try not to doubt yourself in the beginning. Practice makes perfect!
If you believe you can do it, and you deny yourself the opportunity of trying, you will suffer in the long run.
It's a long process, so don't get all excited right off the bat. It will take years, so hunker down, find out quickly what you do not know, get that down pat, and work, talk, befriend, and support you peers. Karma is real.
Never give up! Stick with it! There are no right or wrongs with art it is all personal choice and interpretation.
Listen to no one. Follow your instincts and do what your heart tells you to do. |
