Absolutely. In fact I just finished up the basic-style-guide known as "Style Beauty Trimness, The Art of Easily Being Stylish, Attractive and Well Turned Out" as a means of educating both my own clients as well as any other woman who is even slightly interested in approving her appearance.

educating is the act of being educated, we are not here to "educate" we are in the business of providing options We believe are best for our clients, its is the client decisions whether to educate him/her selves

Yes, when I have personal clients (not editorial clients) I go through their closet and show them what they have been doing wrong and show them what is right for their body type, complexion, hair color & cut...ect in a shopping trip.
Sometimes, but it's very simple. I tell them all that the most important thing is feeling good about yourself before deciding on what to wear. If you feel good on the inside then what's on the outside will shine.
I always educate my clients no matter what the subject. I like to offer advice and opinions. Most of my clients respect me more for taking the time to educate them and trust me and the decisions I make.

Yes! One of my current freelance clients was a start-up and i needed to walk her through what i was designing, and why i was designing it. I had to explain a lot more with this client than with previous ones because she needed to understand what was going on. From small scale details to the large scale picture, we talked at length about many aspects of her project until she felt comfortable and trusted me. We now have a great working relationship that will hopefully last as long as her company!
Educating a client is key; I'm a believer of taking care of mind body and soul. Many clients are concerned about the overall appearance of their skin, and ask me what products can give them better skin. Or makeup colors that compliment their coloring. |
