|Which of your jobs or tasks do you most enjoy?
I thoroughly enjoy doing spot illustrations. Drawing a lot of different things from popcorn to the liberty bell to dinosaurs to cars to baby ducks is great fun. Never boring.
When one is at a point where you are creating a piece and everything is working out smoothly.
I love watching one of my characters or a piece of my art come to life. When I get a really good idea, I treasure every moment when I am working on it.
The editorial work by far. hopefully one day periodicals will not be afraid to once again go the rout of illustration, unfortunately with the advent of digital photography everyone thinks they are Ansel Adams now suddenly the market is saturated with cheep stock photography and illustrations, it has ruined the market for us traditionalists and has made magazines and your local newspaper billboards for Getty.
I enjoy the discovery of a new idea in the face of adversity.
Any place I'm in a position of creativity.
The planning stages are the most fun and challenging to me.
Holding a pencil in my hand.
All of them. I love a task that will push my creative fervor
The ones that involve aliens, monsters, kids, and large amounts of money.
I still enjoy doing hi-tech digital work with fancy effects and some painterly work where I can do figures in robes, historical and religious. I have been lucky to get a wide variety of projects, which keeps me interested.
Where I get to create without too many restrictions
Motorsports and PAYING jobs.
Putting the finishing touches on. I really like rendering, but it can be a little tedious if I'm on a tight deadline.
I love working on the Op-Ed pages of large circulation newspapers. That's my chance to be topical and make a point (not my point, the authour's, but a point) to a huge audience. I also love the forum of the New York Times Book Review.
