COOKING
What would you say to a novice in the kitchen to help them get over their fear of cooking?
Try and try again - everyone makes mistakes, you have to learn from them
To taste and feel everything, know your products and treat them with respect.
Everybody burns something once in a while. If you're really worried about it, ask someone to help you. It will be fin for the both of you.
Focus on the job at hand, if your chopping vegetables, chop them. Distractions are essentially going to cause you to make mistakes, cut yourself, and of course, annoy your boss.
Give encouragement, sound advice. Start off with tasks the novice is confident with.
Allow them to ask questions as often as possible
Cooking is easy. Find a recipe that you like and play with it.
Man up, don't be a wise-ass, listen, take notes, and shut up.

Don't let one mistake bring you down! We all make them - we're people.
And don't be afraid.
Some of the best dishes come from epic failures. Chef Paul Prudhomme invented the blackening technique by accident. Now it's part of a chef's culinary techniques. My burnt chicken turned into an awesome dinner. Don't be afraid to fail. You can achieve great things through your mistakes!
Dont worry,be happy
Cooking is about experimenting, there is no right or wrong. It's all about you and what you enjoy. Go with something you love and expand from there. Get a few friends together and have fun playing with your food. I will come help you if you want. Email me!
Relax, have fun with food. Start with a couple of great books on the style of cooking you are interested in to see how the basics are done. Many of my first attempts didn't go perfectly but it's a great way to learn.
One step at a time, like everything else.
Try and try again - everyone makes mistakes, you have to learn from them |
