Do you have a ritual like retiring to a lonely place from time to time to cleanse your mind?
I love to take a 2 hour bubble bath and read a romance novel.
I meditate every day and get into nature as often as possible. Both serve to rest and rejuvenate me.
Yeah, travelling to a new place. With new people & culture. Totally soothes my stress, and resets my mind.
Classic tip - If something's wrong - walk around
Sleep?
traveling, hanging out with creative people, going to writing groups, watching unique movies, tv shows, going to local plays, walking in different areas...my ritual is not to have specific continually repeated rituals
No, not really, but I do take a lot of power naps.
I like to sit on my couch and watch certain t.v. shows or movies to get new ideas about styles that are in or what I could work with.
My source of inspiration is everyone and everything around me. Retiring to a place where I can be alone from time to time is not much of an issue when it comes to cleansing my mind if I'd have to be completely honest. However, taking a deep breather in a nice and quiet place does its miracles every once a while.
I'm usually totally obsessed with crowded and vivid places because they honestly resemble me as a person. Socializing is what I love to do, so if there's fun to be given or taken, it'd be the place to find me. My room usually is the one and only place I spend most of my time at, as I can make it as vivid or as relaxing as I desire. Mood-swings however, do occur often - some of them just drag me away to silent places like parks, while others drown me deep into the places where the wildest things in life can be found. I could conclude that I don't literally have this sort of ritual, but act upon my own mood or intuition when the situation calls for it.
No, not really. For me, it isn't so much about cleansing my mind but refocusing it. I seem to get best results either writing immediately when I get up or right before I go to bed, usually after some light but stimulating reading. It's a constant struggle to make it work smoothly and without interruptions in between these two disparate points of the day.
Once a month I have what my wife calls my "man-period". Crude, but true. I need just to close off and digest or reject ideas.
Depends on deadlines – which I try to control.
Yes, your sometimes find me locked away from the world. I'll turn off my phone and wont contact anyone for a while. I normally go for a long walk, put my headphones in and forget everyone and everything. Its just me, the trees and the music.
I try to meditate daily for at least 30 minutes. I spend time away from people so I can concentrate on important problems. I turn to Nature for refreshment. I feed wild birds and grow vegetables scientifically. I don't listen to the radio while I drive so I can think. |
