Do you have a ritual like retiring to a lonely place from time to time to cleanse your mind?

Completely! I am a workaholic and I can work 24 hrs a day if I have to but I know when I have to stop, it's like a little switch being turned off. When it happens I just retreat into myself and don't speak for a little while. Every night before bed I watch mind-numbing tv trash - either shopping TV or something funny like Jackass or a bit of trashy reality TV for an hour, which totally relaxes me and stops my mind whirring. It's becoming more and more important for me to do this daily as I find my head is constantly spinning with ideas and deadlines these days.

Not really. Maybe I should!

I'm inspired all the time!

From walking around the shops, checking out branding and marketing campaigns which are working and those that aren't, to a walk in the countryside to blow away the cobwebs to watching a movie and thinking "that's it!"

Creativity is a frame of mind and from the most obscure inspiration can be borne a great creative marketing solution!

Good sleep and I make sure that i have plenty of time to hit REM becuse that is where my ideas come to me and the waking moment I write them down.

Oh yes I have. I am current living in Germany, near the river "Rhein". When everything comes down on my, I walk over to the Rhein and I sit down on the shore ontop of some big stones. I like it because nothing is going to annoy you. Everything is silent, and it helps me to clean up things or to think about things I might not have mentioned in my mind.

I try to squeeze in a vacation to bali every couple of months to relax my mind. Bali is also an interesting place to be. You can meet so many different people from all over the world. You can see sO many different fashion style. The street performer and street art also inspires me the most. I think street art is the mOst honest type of art

GO TO MY STUDIO PUT THE MUSIC UP LOAD

no, but i do like the rituals and the idea of, you know, the oriental monks etc. i'm thinking of that guy on the mountain in Kill Bill, that master with the long white beard. it's a beautiful, romantic and exotic idea. so i pretend to have a discipline that i call my fake spirituality.

it's based on 3 principles:
extreme minimalism - i try to own the minimum possible to function comfortably
extreme frugality - i try to spend on only the bear minimum (usually unsuccessfully)
hermitage - i try to not seek out social contact if it doesn't seek me out, preferring to spend my time alone

these things have a way of recharging something. not the mind, but something.

No

If I really need to clear my head I go somewhere public and just wander. There's something comforting about being in a mall or busy coffee shop, surrounded by people and not having to engage with them. Being able to just Be is the biggest mind sweep for me.

Walking the dog and swimming are great for clearing the fog

Not really. Just mindful meditation on a regular basis.

Sometimes I do. Headphones are nice if you are surrounded by noisy people.

Not really but I do pray. I often find design ideas coming to me in church - and I often sit and doodle in note books. For example yesterday I sat and designed a baby's promise blanket - my friend was really amazed at what I was doing. I think leaving my mind open is the key to design.

Not really, sometimes it is necessary to change what you are doing, work on another project or do something different until you can go back and start fresh.
