What skills would you advise a want-to-be-entrepreneur to acquire?
A real understanding of cash flow.
Compassion. You must learn to see things from others point of view. Then add to that diplomacy to correct the offset of interests. Lastly, you must have commitment. When all others say "give up", you must tell yourself "Finally I've made it" and push on to find your next success.
The ability to build relationships
Don't give up. Learn the practical skills from someone you really resonate with.
Patience and persistence. In large doses.
Dedication. Can do mentatlity.
Don't let anyone piss on your dream-
Be passionate and persistent. Don't let someone tell you can't do something if you really and truely believe in your idea. It's a big world and a lot of people just might want what you have to offer. Know your weaknesses and seek help when and where needed. It's your life, live it on your terms.
Learn to take your ego out of the equation. Other people's success is your success.
Do only what you are good at!
DO YOUR PASSION through ongoing education, commitment to excellence in everything that you do, learning to listen well, execute effective marketing, engaging in selective networking, knowing how & when to delegate responsibility/ build collaborative relationships or partnerships, and developing multiple sources of income for financial security & long-term sustainability.
You have to be fearless and open to new experiences and not afraid to ask if you don't have the answers or need a favour - people like to help!
Ethics, integrity, humility, hard work, love of G-d, yourself, spouse, family, commuity, nation and culture; and too of your fellow man/woman.
Patience, perseverance,honesty and strong faith.
I think all skills are useful. I think the ability to think strategically and elaborate dreams and visions are absolutely key, and perhaps more important than any other skill. Management and operational skills can be delegated, visionary skills cannot be. However, good management and operational skills are also valuable - the more you understand your own business, the better you can supervise others to do the work! |
