What do you think about public funding for the arts?
It's a great invention. Finally small artist get the chance to see their concepts beeing produced.
I think anywhere you can get money, you should. In times like these, a lending hand is a helpful hands, and who knows, you might be lending it to whomever helped you someday.
I think funding is extremely important. In many public schools art is the first thing to receive funding cuts. Art is necessary for the learning process.
I do not think that the arts get nearly enough recognition by the public. I feel that a lot of the time the art programs are the first to get cut or get the least amount of funding, and that is horrible because art can really improve peoples' lives.
I think it is so so important. Not only does it give kids who are not as book smart as they are gifted in the arts, a place to shine and an outlet for creativity but it also forms well rounded kids and students. Not everyone was meant to be the president, engineers or doctors. Many were meant to be artists and create.
I believe that public funding for the arts is extremely important. Art should be both promoted and supported just as any other area of study in education is funded and valued. If our world was only made up of doctors, lawyers, and mathematicians there would be a severe gap in communication and knowledge. I see art as another avenue of communication, along with oral and written communication.
Absolutely important. It is sad to see art funding cut in schools. Some kids need art. It's their salvation from what seems like an otherwise cold and orderly world.
There should definitely be public funding for the arts. Some schools can not afford the necessities or teachers for art classes. And some museums can not afford to stay open. They want to remain free so all people can have a chance to see and experience it. Without the arts people would not be able to express themselves. When I say arts I mean all arts dance, music, and theater not just hand made art. Art is a necessity. it is, and will always be a part of our history, culture, life and future.
Where else would the funding come from? The only way I believe the arts can stay alive is from funding like this. Being a girl who's been fortunate enough to have teachers overlook the fact that I couldn't pay for lessons, instrument maintenance, what have you... and helped me out, I know funding is very important. Because there are many like me who can't afford it. Music, writing, design, whatever you see as art... its not just for the affluent! It shouldn't be a luxury! Art is for everyone! So, there's no choice but to have public funding and charity for it.
I support public funding for the arts. Any kind of help given to the people to find inspiration in the arts is a plus in my book.
It is vital. I cannot properly express the gravity of that statement with words.
Its a must art ads color to a otherwise drab world.
It is severely lacking. I also believe this is closely related to Art in education. Art is the preeminent tool for critical thinking and problem solving and should be a requisite course of study at all levels of education as much as reading and writing and mathematics. |
