Must an artist reinvent him/herself everyday?
Why ? Why would anyone want to rethink who they are each day ?
People need to reinvent themselves every day just as works of art are reinvented every moment every time someone looks at them or listens to them.
It is fashionable to reinvent yourself. I think that in some cases it is a bit “light”. Sometimes you have to break something and then rebuild it, and that means pain.
No, an artist should be true to him/herself.
Yes, the world is everchanging and in order to touch lives an artist must evolve in order for their art to remain relevant.

Some must to stay on the edge of creativity. I choose to look at myself as being in a state of constant self-improvement; Not reinventing myself daily because I will have lost progress from the day before.
I do what I do, it's as simple as that. I'm adaptable and I'll try new things and challenge myself but this kind of art is my thing. I want to be the best I can be and improve on the things I can.

No. It just happens. Events in our lives change the way we think and the way we act. I have seen my art evolve through the years of: traveling, meeting people, media, other artists, maturity, etc. Also, we get more skillful as we try to challenge ourselves. Remeber, we all started with stick figures and crayons.
Not every day, but as often as is necessary!
I believe life slowly reinvents me everyday and therefore my art is in turn reinvinted often. |
