Do you consider yourself postmodern?
No.
These genres are too diluted at the moment. Furthermore, an Artist surely cannot categorise themselves? Surely that's for the Art commentators to do?
I saw a tshirt with the slogan,
"I'M POSTMODERN"
It made me want to throw up and slap the wearer with a wet 5" brush
I can't answer that about myself.
To be honest, I'm not sure what "type" of art mine would fit under.
I try not to put a label to my art as a whole because each piece is different. I consider it all art because I am an artist.
Yes I do consider myself a postmodern artist. The modern art movement lasted from the mid-nineteenth century through the 1920's. Though my designation as postmodern is not solely based on dates alone.
I am a postmodern artist because the art I create could be considered reactionary to events of avant-garde and modern art criteria/theory. I am a conceptual female fibers artist. I work in what is typically considered a craft-based art. In doing so, I flout the unspoken rules of early modern artists being male and usually painters.
I do not consider myself postmodern, because I do not feel that I am trying to rebel or question what art is supposed to be. I also love to focus on detail and the appearance of my pieces are very important. I try to improve my technical skill and portray that in my pieces.
Ha, ha, ha. I don't even know what that means! I consider myself a cartoonist and a storyteller.
No. I don't think my work reflects aspects of the modern period, therefore its not post modern.
Um, I really don't know. I just see myself as... me. I don't believe in styles or genres. I just believe that everyone should do their own thing and not conform to one way of doing things. So, not really.
I actually do not. I prefer to consider myself a modern artist. I tend to look at the affects of the modernization and the impacts it has on society as a whole. The idea of postmodernism, though, doesn't offend me. I am just not ready to change my outlook at this moment in my life.

I try not to label myself or my work. I'm just a person who needs to create my own worlds. I have passion for all creative expression through out history.
