Why do so many artists and creators have such volatile personalities?

Whohub

if you see it that way???? I think most or many ARTIST are extremist we can't help that....In history the greatest artist that ever were had a tendency to be mad......not volatile....I find them so interesting....

Interesting, i really have no idea?

there is a fine line between insanity and genius...

i wouldnt have said volatile anyway - i think that is a very harsh word!

we are passionate people who have a lot of emotion.. left side of the brain and all that... we aren't robots, we are feelings! and that is GOOD!

ADD.
Lack of control leads to creativity.

hahaa! Do they?
I'm a pretty peace lovin individual.
Have had my purple fits from time to time, and sometimes seek perfection and try to get things as good as humanely possible but thats just me trying to get things as right as I can.
I am the polar opposite of volatile, but can turn it on if you want me to ! :-)

It is a reptutation artists and creators have, thats for sure. I guess its because the creative process can be such a mystery and that can make artists feel like they are being misunderstood, that it can be difficult to actually describe a vision and so artists have to forge forward often without people really understanding what they are trying to do....it takes alot of courage to be an artist, it takes alot of trust and strength of character and artists are often stiving for their ideals alone, or have even more pressure as they are trying to lead others. When certain attitudes pervade , or misunderstandings happen it can just be a trigger for releasing all the pressures...a fight back from the artist simply because they feel that their creative self has been attacked....its like someone saying something bad about one of your loved ones...

The way I see it. An artist when they are volatile it's like a two year old child that has so much to express but are limited with speech and how to express themselves. When artists have so many ideas in their head and don't know exactly how to bring it forward then they can become Volatile.

every person got their own personalities. It shows that artist are human as well.

They think and decide himself/herself as a freedom Bird

I don't believe they do. I think all artists are half performance and half product. A visible persona attracts attention to the work.

I do believe we have a different view of the world. Artists who feel "entitled" by their gifts are simply abusing their public. Often there is an undeniable drive to produce art that I don't think any other type of brain has, but social skills.... any executive or bum on the street can have their share of mental illness!

They're secretly blood-sucking, attention-seeking monsters that just want a little love.

Haha, not really. Most of us are normal, really.

It is not necessary for an artist to have a volatile personality.

Since recent past, our world, including art profession, has become very competitive, exposure and sale oriented. Volatility or pretentious volatility in the personality of the artist helps him to register his presence.

Sensitivity of soul is the reason I think.Putting yourself infront everybody to be eveluated as a good or bad artist needs lots of guts...Or foolishness on the other hand...

Volatile is such a strong word. Most of the time creative people are in deep thought and trying to perfect the idea in their minds. And being disturbed during one's train of thought costs a huge amount of re-thinking about the idea again (that's if you still have the original idea and not the idea left overs when you were disturbed).

who says they all do?

PASSION! and sensitivity

you need to be sensitive and have passion-those two qualities don't always work best together ;)

sensitive to your surroundings/peoples emotions/movement/flow/composition/eye movement/colour/lighting/etc

and PASSION! gets your artistic soul fired up to summon all the intense energy required to make a successful piece. Art has to move the viewer on an emotional level and without some PASSION! you won't get anywhere imo
