What opinion do you have of the tax system your business operates under?
Pretty awful. The problem is with Europe's TARIC codes for import duty. They are ridiculous. They should be simplified, and products that are made from unrenewable, unsustainable, unbiodegradable sources should carry a higher tariff than those coming from environmentally-friendlty sources should carry a lower tariff.
There is no earthly logical reason for one garment to carry a different tariff to another because it has a seam somewhere, or a sleeve, or be a different weight!
Its not too bad for my business but I know lots of bigger businesses that are not happy.
I personally don't believe the UK tax system is run correctly. If the country was run by business men (after all UK PLC is one of the biggest business in the country?..) I reckon things would be far different.

In Japan, for the tax, because of the sensitive area by the strength of the various pressure groups, many aspects of not fulfilling its original purpose. Pressure groups in the country's fiscal situation is considered to stand pat. Works only to protect the government itself also. The biggest drawback of this tax system in Japan, fiscal discipline is not working properly is to defect. That it significantly impacts business. Japan's financial authorities, and whether a government willing to commit suicide? And think seriously.
Tax has been a hindrance since the time of Ages however our poor country needs tax and more to get us beyond the servility of EU IMF strictures currently imposed on Ireland

I can't really say much because we all have to deal with that. If you scared to make money then you shouldn't put your money in something you don't want to do in other words scared money don't make money.
My business is very, very small. I have no employees. I only fit in the self-employment tax system. For me, I believe the system works with me and not against. I am happy with it. |
