They come at the most random times...no rhymn or reason to it.
In the subconscious time before awakening in the morning.
I feel self satisfaction and one with nature and the work I am completing. I enjoy painting places I have been and painted en plein air at locations in France, Germany, Austria, and all over the United States. I love to paint outside and capture the moment of my life experiences in beautiful places. Subjects I mostly paint en plein air include landscapes, seascapes, lighthouses, florals, and southwestern scenes. When I am not painting en plein air, I am painting from photographs I have taken on vacation.
Anytime. Sometimes without even trying, sometimes with a lot of concentrated effort.
When i sink in worlds in which dwells inspiration.
My best ideas come when I’m not looking for a good idea
I got a pretty good idea yesterday while standing in line at Ikea listening to the young man behind me describe his first Ikea experience to his mate. "This is the biggest store I've ever been to man. I mean huge. I'm exhausted. Yeah- I found some stuff. I got 2 orange pillows and those shelves I saw online, and I found this white organizer thing but now I'm rethinking that..."
Usually when I'm in the shit.
My WIFE! She's typing this:-)
I've actually got some really good ideas whilst staring at the ceiling, probably as a result of emptying the mind.
Sometimes late at night.
Usely in places where I'm relaxed driving around, together with my frinds or husband.
When I'm under pressure.
Pondering the failings of the last great idea invariably, eventually, sheds
light on what to do next. Astral-planing, staring at that ‘blank canvas’
and ‘sleeping on it’ often assist.
From the subconscious mind when I wake up from a dream.
