After a meditation session, when my mind is clear.
When I have equal parts inspiration and thought behind the painting.
Deadlines, they keep your ideas sharp and on track. I'm inspired by all things 50's too, as well as everyday life and people.
There's no particular time. Sometimes when I'm in the middle of something else, an idea will just come to me. Some people are "morning people", some are "night owls". Me, I'm a bit of both.
I get a lot of ideas when I'm trying to go to sleep. It takes me over an hour to turn my mind off at night and during that time my mind is wondering so I'll usually come up with some idea and have to get up and write it down in my sketchbook.
When I am in the shower, doodling or travelling.
when I'm high.
Usually just when i'm trying to get some sleep.
Often on waking or whilst in the car.
In the morning.
When I'm absolutely exhausted, from my dreams or in a deep state of thinking often induced with the addition of alcohol. Occasionally, it's been in the shower, but I'm really not confined to any one in particular. They've happened when driving.
When I'm open to them.
Late at night or in my dreams.
I always carry a note book with me as a lot of ideas come from my afternoon walks.
