How is an idea born? For you, what is inspiration?

Whohub

I get ideas and inspiration from EVERYWHERE! My best place to come up with ideas is in my car on the way to school in the morning. I have a 20 minute drive and a lot can go through my head in that amount of time.

Observation of life. Most of my ideas come to me usually unbidden but also inspired through reading, music, media.

I enjoy thinking up an idea more than any other part of illustration. Granted, usually I am given a subject to tackle, but its how you communicate that idea that is fun. For example, someone says "The ecomony is not doing well. Draw that." Thats where I have to think up a way to show an abstract concept. The idea can come from anywhere; I find the easiest way to let it come is to completely open up. For me, the creative process usually involves lots of music/silence, relaxation, research, and finally applying the subject to my personal life experiences. I find the best ideas come when I am most relaxed and least distracted: lying in bed for a spell before getting up for the day, showering, and falling asleep at night. Often, concepts will come while driving as well.

My inspiration is anything and everything; I feel keeping myself open keeps the art from becoming stagnant. So I guess my greatest inspiration is to not be complacent?

The story is my inspiration for most of my work. However I am always travelling in my imagination. I love to read books and magazines about other countries, times and people. In my head I have discovered many lost civilizations, visited caves, mountains, jungles, rivers, underwater cities, hidden fortresses, the deepest forests, tallest waterfalls, most enormous glaciers...

My ideas come from a variety of places. Most of the time I'll see a picture of someone and get ideas about illustrations. My inspiration comes from other artists. There are so many cool artists amazing things. It makes you want to create bigger and better things!

My inspiration comes from the world around me - my experiences, the environment I live in, the art and design I see has all left it's mark on how I work and the work I produce.

an idea is born from my different emoitions. Boredom, urgency, financial gain, the need to just "do" something.

Inspiration for me comes from many different places, there is not a set way for inspiration. It can come from people watching or a drive back home. I'd say more often than not though it comes from other art. Also talking to other artists.

Inspiration can come from anywhere; lucid dreams, lines from songs, going on a nice walk with my camera, or visiting a gallery or museum. Usually inspiration is triggered when I step outside of my daily routine and do something new that re-boots my senses.

Life. No matter what I am looking at, my mind instantly begins to calculate the brushstrokes it would take to capture, and paint it!

Somebody tells me what to do, and I see pictures in my head.

An idea is born out of a familiarization of the basic and fundamental truth inside all of us. I use, what I think to be, a type of filter of what I feel inside myself and what I create on paper.

My inspiration basically is "life": the laughter, the joy, the sadness, the hurt, the anguish... what makes all of us connected... what makes us not very different from one another at all.

Working on solving a problem leads to yet another slight variable that must be worked out and given form. In this way many experiments are completed to exhaust the original intent filling a portfolio with many related pieces ... never a loss for a new idea former drawings give form to another idea that needs to be given form.

Teach for America is my theme song! Teach about America through pictures; Pictures, showing my ideas from the current social and political news of the day give me a sense that I am contributing to the solutiion of those many shocking issues ... at least in my own mind.

Thinking critically – carefully about democracy as a freedom center in the world always seems to end in a picture, a painting, a sculpture, or a video.

Current events keep me tuned to the great problems in the world that influence my work. Very few people see my online museum. Very few people who see my work understand the work. It is in a separate category ... so idiosyncratic that it can't be placed neatly with others work.

Inspiration happens whether I am looking for it or not, more often when I'm not. I rather enjoy being surprised by my subconscious. It escapes you if you try too hard to find it. Ideas are out there for anybody to do something with. Creative people will recognize them, and put it into a form others can relate to.

A well written passage. Sometines it's a reoccuring thought or an idea shared by a friend.

I cant tell you its a secret.
