How is an idea born? For you, what is inspiration?
any think and every thing
I am inspired by everything around me and I sail with the wind:
People: I love to make portraits, to put myself into the skin of the people I paint. The diversity of faces and body expressions fascinates me
Nature: the flowers, the beautiful landscapes, the objects... everything which is aesthetic and natural!
Colours: I fancy painting EVERYTHING which has beautiful colours, vibrant colours but also soft, tender colours
Movement: I love to paint everything which is in movement. like sport, dance, bullfight, animals moving...
Inspiration, shortly said, is passion coming to life.
Seeing something and making it different
immediate inspiration sparked by viewing something; not much planning or thought beforehand...
A lot of my inspiration comes from vintage America, old televisions and radios, and I spend a lot of time looking through bird books and books on graffiti. My father and his taste in old film and his love of the wilderness also helped to shape my view on my art.
As an artist inspiration is innate, it comes with "the territory" of being an artist. It results from the perception of realities at the level of our deepest self.
I paint by intuition and I find inspiration from both the internal and the external world. In my paintings, I use vivid colors which often reflect a mood or displate a twist.
A quality of light, a facial expression, a memory, an experience.
The side profile of a nose and mouth. The place behind an ear. The shadow a lock of hair casts on a face. A shared intimacy.
it just comes to you, like you discovered it. i don't really know how it works. its like when you know the answer to a very hard question and it is on the tip of your tongue, but you just cant think of it and then when it is finally revealed to you, you shout, you hit your palm to your head or you clap your hands and gasp, that feeling. thats what it is like. that is the inspiration i guess.
Contemplation and deep looking. The fact that we are alive to witness the unfolding universe is totally inspiring.
An idea is born to me as a flicker of a little flame. The trick about it is that it won't go away. I always tell my students "A painting is an idea that won't go away." Many things are inspirational--from memories, to atmospheric mood along the coast or in the cedar woods, to the wonder of animals.
I am mostly inspired by the things around me and the roadblocks I encounter in my own life
Inspiration is a desire to find or locate more knowledge to achieve.
sometimes it's like a jehovah's witness knocking down your door, when you least expect it.
sometimes... it comes in my dreams, and i forcibly wake myself up to write about it, lest i forget it in the morning.
sometimes... it is someone else's quip or banter that surprises me. or from a book or quote that inspred me... then, an image comes up, then I draw it.
Color is the source of my inspiration. Wanting to see how one color will work next to another color in the form of paper is where I begin. |
