How is an idea born? For you, what is inspiration?
My stories live round me, their main thing to listen and have time to represent:)
Round us always is a lot of interesting, cheerful and mysterious, the main thing not to be lazy, and to work:)
Everyday life. as i move about, i experience cultures, people and their interactions with one another and with the surrounding environment.
for sketching I let my mind go nuts. I just let my hand come up with basic shapes and go from there.
for clients I ask what they are looking for, go look at those things and brainstorm until I have at least a hundred or more things. from there I narrow it down to the strong ideas and flesh them out.
lots of my inspiration come from comic book, urban, and graphic design art.
Where ever I look I find an inspiration. Sometimes it is just one word, a movement, or a sound. People, nature, laughter, joy of living.
Ideas just come into my head. I absorb things all the time - just life going on and the surroundings - and then an idea from this turns into something. There is no plan or scheme.
Initial ideas may be born out of something I see, feel, experience or research. Then it is a long process of working and reworking the image until I am completely satisfied with it. Then I'll transfer the image to silk and cut it. Often though, new stories and ideas get sucked in along the way which somewhat changes the original idea.
Ideas come from all around - most stay inside my head but when I decide to paint a particular subject/object it's because it holds some meaning for me personally.
Inspiration is whatever catches your attention and doesn't let it go to the point where you know that you'll regret not giving it the space to become what it needs to become. Something that you can't shake off even days later. It could be anything from a written line, to an incident, to an image, even a smell.. something that triggers you in a way that it becomes unforgettable..
Ideas are hard to explain really, they just sort of come to you.
Mainly when you least expect it. The same can be said with inspiration
it's just something that works in mysterious ways.
Inspiration comes from all around, nature, colour, poetry, God. I always have a note pad with me so that I can jot ideas down
An idea is not born, it is developed and nurtured over a period.Just like in ceramics where the potter takes time to design, mold and harden.
Inspiration on the other hand,is part of ones upbringing.Nobody will ever tell you where to get your inspiration. It comes naturally and genetically in some cases.
Somwtimes my paintings are a direct result from a personal experience or feeling, and sometimes I just try to create something interesting using a variety of color palletes.
Well… Often times I see something that I thought was something else, my mistake for what I thought it was can often turn into an idea for work
Inspiration to me is really anything and everything. It’s just a feeling you get when looking at whatever it is you find or think you have a connection to. On the flip side it can also be the complete opposite feeling, this to me is inspiration of what not be or do.
Idea's are born from anything, I think. Something stimulating the brain in just the right way to get that spark of interest. Inspiration for me is music, and art.
How is an idea born? I'm still trying to figure it out.
Inspiration, to me, is an idea I can't stop thinking of, it moves me, it fills me with the greatest emotions. Inspiration is an idea I can't wait to see materialized, it's an idea that, ultimately, takes me back to the studio, over and over again...until it emerges victorious, dancing on my canvas. |
