How is an idea born? For you, what is inspiration?
Personal experiences and interactions are one influence on my work. My principles and reactions to those of others are the main influence. Current events and the actions of government are becoming less important because they often inspire negative imagery. I am attempting to build a body of positive and uplifting work.
The way light plays on color is what initially catches my eye. I love odd perspective and art that has character. I am not a realist.
Being a creative person, I get inspires by lot of things. I get inspires from my travels to places. Seeing different cultures inspires me too. I get inspires by talking to people and friends. I get inspires by books, Internet, exhibitions and natures.
Life is my inpiration.
My biggest inspirations are : Nature , ancient celtic art , Magic .
Biblical ideas and nature are my biggest contributors. I purchase (to a fault) technique books, magazines and online publications. I love to see what others are doing.
Ever heard of The Idea Fairy?
ideas are there in the ether... it is often a challenge, often something one wants to say or communicate or make that gives an idea. ultimately i try to find ways of saying that, at times subtly at time blatantly... and exploring many layers in between.
it is often the unrehearsed, the most raw, fresh and of the moment scenes, flashes, glimpses, triggers that provide the best of inspirations.
when i try and try to remember something, i just leave it for a while and the memory comes flooding back!! inspirations are just like that - i bump into inspirations in the most unlikely corners!
An idea is born out of the love for something.When i see something i love ,my inner soul starts being creative. Inspiration to me is when my dreams put on work clothes.I get inspired when i complete a beautiful piece that has attracted the eyes of a client.
I love to take my camera and go for a drive. No plan, usually, just whatever captures my attention. However, I love old buildings and structures, historical places, water, boats, animals.... I'm a true Gemini in the sense that I float from one subject to another with no warning. But it's all fun!
It's usually a combination of many things.
I've realized that most of my ideas come from a desire to escape. My creativity is almost a tool for me to get away from a place I don't want to be and find entertainment within myself. I hope to be able to give that same kind of entertainment to others.

I am a product of everything that has ever gone before according to my understanding of it.
When I see a wonderful insect, I get excited. I begin to think of what colors would look good with it, and what design would best show off its' natural form. |
