Torn between writing and drawing, on having graduated from a Graphics Course in 1993, I had a vivid dream about a vampire called Skaler. In pursuit of writing and illustrating his story as a novel, I became an actor, then a Radio Producer, and then a Court Reporter. Skaler is now written, and I developed my own style to illustrate it.
I grew up in the countryside of Pennsylvania. I was lucky enough to attend RISD in Providence, RI. I moved to NYC in 1995 and have been illustrating ever since for clients such as: Time, Newsweek, Scholastic, New York Magazine, LA Times, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, IBM, Rolling Stone....
I am a illustrator & graphic designer from Kansas City, Missouri exploring a wide range of creative outlets. Scrapbooking, painting, drawing, graphic design, pattern design, crafts and photography. I like it playful and fun and my art usually portrays that message.
I have been an agent in Toronto for longer than I'd care to admit. However, the years of experience are obviously beneficial. For many years I represented directors who did television commercials across Canada.

Donovan deconstructs images and appropriate their content for use in unexpected compositions. The perspective in the images is both plural and ambiguous which creates an intense creative world where his consciousness gives way to the subconscious and leads him on a path of self-discovery

Though I find traditional realism rewarding, my sensibilities lean more towards the surreal and horrific.Ē Adams proclaims: "Mankindís primal instincts are the true grit driving my imagination. Itís more interesting to portray what I see beneath the surface instead of what society places on the outside
I was raised by awesome parents who encouraged me and let me paint cartoon characters all over my bedroom. While in college pursuing my B.F.A., I developed an obsession with pattern which has still never left me. I gained a tremendous amount of experience working as a product designer full time, and now I freelance.
