Both of the following are necessary, but how are dreaming and realism balanced?

Dreaming allows us to imagine; realism allows us to figure out how to make our dreams come true.

Since we live both a human and spiritual experience at the same time, I don't really hold with "realism". Often too much focus on what is "real" keeps creating more of the same. And also, that question really depends on your own definitions of those words. Semantics can make almost anything be right.

I'm not so sure I follow the need to or why I'd want to balance realism with dreaming. I guess I would say that your realism comes as a by product of your dreaming. I would have a big hesitation to say that your dreams can not be in balance with the real. The challenge might be to uncover the blocks going on here and bring it all into balance the way that feels right.

My question would be...what is realism? Everyone's life is different and there is no right and wrong. The best we can do is to hear what the client is saying to us and help them in that same basis. But realism can cause us to fall into what is normal and then that will get us into trouble.

It is definitely a fine line between these two. There are certain things that just won't change no matter how much I want them to. For example, if I am human and desperately want to become a tiger, I would be wasting my time working towards that goal. However, if I focus on embodying certain characteristics I like about tigers (poise, agility, etc), then I can probably achieve that. It is about finding the essence of whatever it is you desire. When you find that, you can filter that through your life's style and make it your own.

You absolutely need a dream to get you moving, as it is in the future so cannot be realised as yet. the dream needs to be something big enough to feel it emotionally and for you to have it t the front of your mind daily.

Realism, is what you believe. When we dreamed of landing on the moon there was no evidnce to support it and certainly nothing to look back on.

In a more useful context, realism comes into the euation when we have seen others achieve what we want to.

Different in the different parts of a coaching session.
Dreaming is often great to explore the inner willings,
resources, senses et cetera.
Realism is needed to get into action - but I find realism
to be great - challenging comments of realism. Theses
comments are often found to be "copy paste" of other's
ideas...

Dreaming sets a person up for what is possible. Realism is a limitation set only by one's self. Reach for the sky, knowing your limitations, but always pushing the envelope to be better and better. That's how I live.

Leaders dream and use the path of realism to achieve their dreams.

The dream is the inspirator of reality. You have a wish and you want it to materialize in your day to day life. It's is about dreaming your reality to create an inspiring goal to work toward to. Concrete steps should be developed to take ownership of the plan to get you to dream fulfillment.

By making a plan of action. Dreams are a corner stone of our progress, however in order to realize the dream we must act. By acting with a plan we bring the element of realism and direction to the table.

With the help of a coach developing meta-cognition---to think more about one's thinking and to assess if more of either is needed, or less. Though outcomes matter, the heart is key too. I see dreaming being "wishing" and there is a fine line on when this is helpful and when it is neurotic, trying to change reality.

It is important to have dreams. But it is also important to know what reality is. Once you know what reality is, then you can see better how it is possible to navigate towards your dreams.

Everything you see before you started with a thought or belief. Self belief can take you very far but being realistic is also important. Start with smaller goals before attacking something on a larger scale.

I love to really help my clients to tune into their heart's biggest desires - to really dream wide and fully - as fully as they are able right now. Then we use that information for all sorts of juicy life insights and gains.

The realism is unique to each client - they say "this is the step for me right now - this is what is happening in my life and what I can commit to right now".
It's a balance that works well because we recognize it that way.
