COACH

What motivates someone to work more efficiently?

Whohub

To acheive more of what they really want, more happines in life and more positive emotions

When they understand their deep down desire to succeed

Each of us is motivated by different things and even that changes with the goal. To gain more efficiency in a certain area it's necessary to know what is true to oneself.
Generally most efficient people do what they have a passion for and what is in alignment with their core values.

Good instruction.

I think there are many different reasons why people feel motivated (or not) to work more efficiently.

Often it is peace of mind and being in control of one's destiny. Some people are motivated by moving towards something, and others are motivated by knowing they are moving away.

The worst kind of motivator, I think, is fear. When we act from a place of fear, we often end up creating the very thing we didn't want, or something worse.

I find that many of my clients are motivated by knowing they are supported, not alone, and making steady progress towards what it is they want. But prior to that, they need to be clear about what they want and why!

Enjoyment, ambition, goals or targets

Having a passion for something, a need, a desire and someone who believes in them. When positive results happen then they begin to believe in themselves.

In reality, it takes different things to motivate different people. However, at our deepest core we all want to be free, happy, safe, & loved. Those words, what it means to have those things may have different meanings for each of us, but we each want those things. My job as a coach is to know what motivates my client and understanding what those words mean for my client is often the key to doing that successfully.

See the big picture and understand where they are at the crossroad to move forward

Belief in self and the desire to change. Also knowing what it is they need to do to make the changes and then continuing on a path to make the plan work.

There are numerous factors that can motivate someone to work more and better or, on the other way around, can cause a breakdown in efficiency, motivation, self-esteem...

Maybe the main motivator is working for a clear goals, which is congruent with your own aspirations, character, ambitions. If you work for something with which you can identify yourself and which is coherent with your principles, then your efficiency, creativity and results will dramatically improve.

On top of that, a chain of small and big successes helps to reinforce your self-esteem and self confidence, with immediate positive effect on your performances.

As a coach, I intervene on both these levels: I help the coachee to find and build his desired and "aligned" future and to build as well a winning image of himself.

A person is more effecient when their work, projects, or create goals that are in alignment with their passion and life's purpose.

Ideally: Self-reflection and often the need for more work-life balance.
Need to have more time for other hobbies or family outside work.

Often:
External pressure (like perfomance reviews and manager's pressure)
Headcount reduction.

A wish for change and making a difference .

I try to be an example for each of my coachees. Depending on their fitness goals, I share with them what I do, how I do it and how I overcome some of the challenges they face.

Just by getting started and having a plan, and if you commit to it, you can be successful at anything. I think the motivation can come from wanting to be more attractive to the opposite sex or maybe it is to gain more confidence. For me, I did not want to be bullied any longer. You have to look deeply into yourself to find your true motivation. I recommend people take a picture of their motivation and tape it to their mirror or put in in their car, so they are reminded all the time of what they want.
