What do you do? How do you define yourself as an artist?
Carolyn E. Moore: I am an artist that can make anything. I work in every media and love exploring new methods or techniques. I have been drawing all of my life. My first exposure to professional art was being a performance artist when I was sixteen. I have a Bachelor's degree in Sculpture and a Master's degree in Transformative Arts. I have been very fortunate to have worked as an educator doing special projects with classrooms typically as a visiting artist. Art is: the air I breathe, and every step I take.
If to tell quickly who I is - I the artist. As whom I feel myself - the graphic artist who very much loves colour:)
I like fairy tales and interesting stories, lovely things and memoirs from the childhood, that I see round myself I is told in the works.
My ideas have manifested in the form of Installations, performance, photography, and video.
I am a freelance general artist, by artist I do anything that I can dabble in and clients would pay me to do. The styles I have the most experience in is comic, urban, commercial, and graphic art. As for mediums, I love anything digital and non-digital.
Everything I do is an art. I work as a jewelry designer, and sell same products in an art gallery. At the same time, I draw, make Venetian masks, paint and write poetry. So I'm taking liberty to say that all my life circles around art.
I don't wish to define myself. The 'art world' seems obsessed with labels and putting people in a box. This goes against the grain to me. I just do what I do as the mood and inclination take me.
If I don't paint I get terrible nightmares.
I am a creative. I write and direct both commissioned work, as well as works that I desire to create as an artist with my own signature style. I work across mediums.
An artist is defined by their creativity, what they are capable of producing via imagination.
As an artist I have many strands to my work and use many different mediums. For me my art is about stepping out of the box and the confines and allowing my creativity to touch as many different areas of my life and work
Am a painter who specializes mainly in abstracts.Am also an artist who is sensitive to what is taking place around me i.e. with people, the environment and construction.
I am an artist of contemporary paintings, some semi-abstract. I work with acrylics on canvas.
I am a mixed media artist with heavy emphasis on painting and illustration; I also make sculptural interpretations of my flat work when I can.
I define myself as an artist through my need to constantly make art in order to try and reason everything I see and hear. I dont really think I understand the world but when I make art I am able to at least get some kind of grip on it.
I'm a visual artist and my work is influenced by the Old Dutch Manner of Painting.
I draw biographical mini-comics and work a day job. The bio-comics are a passion for me as well as just being selfish. They're stories I want to read and decided I'd draw them since someone better wasn't. |
