POLITICS

Why does hunger continue to exist in the world? Is this the result of a deliberate policy?

Jesus said "There will always be hunger". Hunger is caused by Liberty being stifled.

Hunger is the result of an undemocratic world. A world with opportunists who take selfish ideas and steal bread from the mouths of children to acquire total control. Exploitation is the result of a chaotic history. Democracies do not need to achieve power by this process. Democracies have learned through the power of Education that we all do well when we all succeed together. No one needs to go hungry when selfish governments no longer cling to power.

All living creatures seek to expand their numbers to the point where they are stopped by scarcity. It might not be a scarcity of FOOD, but then again, it might. This is not a deliberate policy, it is simply LIFE.

No. It is the result of mismanagement, greed, and ineptness on the part of many leaders across the world, but has nothing to do with a specific or deliberate policy. Most of the leaders who are hurting their own people aren't conspiring to do it. They are making their corrupt and inept decisions primarily on their own. While they may have the support and encouragement of equally corrupt leaders, they are too selfish and self-centered to be doing it for "team" reasons.

Obviously the answer to that is yes. The world produces enough food to feed everyone. Unfortunately capitalism by it's nature would let millions starve as long as they don't have the required wealth to obtain the food. Hunger has also increased as of late because of purposeful policies which have have widened the wealth gap to historic highs in the US.

I believe hunger exists because of really stupid political and policy decisions made by those at the top who are NOT actually working for their people. Whether the policy DELIBERATELY caused the hunger or not, specific policies in place DO contribute to lack of resources, and if re-appropriated, hunger could be eliminated.

In fact, if everyone just stopped eating factory-farmed meat, we could solve world hunger. It's true. While radical, veganism would re-distribute grain AWAY from force-feeding chickens and cows in farms and push that grain toward feeding HUMANS in areas of the world who are starving to death.

Fact:
- It takes up to 16 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of edible animal flesh.

Fact:
- According to the USDA and the United Nations, using an acre of land to raise cattle for slaughter yields 20 pounds of usable protein. That same acre would yield 356 pounds of protein if soybeans were grown instead" (more than 17 times as much!).

Fact:
- A family in Somalia can starve to death while working grain fields. These grains they harvest are then shipped to America to feed cows and chickens on meat-farms. We feed the grain harvested by the starving family to our animals so we can slaughter and eat THEIR flesh. If we simply didn't factory farm our animals / go vegetarian as a society, the family could then EAT the grain they harvest to feed our animals for slaughter.

World hunger, solved. Simple as not eating meat.

Is the result of bad politicians and a miss informed society.
