LAW
What advice can you give someone with an interest in pursuing this profession?
as long as your heart and mind are set on doing this, choose it as your carrier, however, if you ever feel that this is a profession that could lead to easy money; this is'nt the right choice for you.
and best of luck for all those young people pursuing this profession of law.
listen
Works independently, commitment to your client, work hard & you'll always have good money, first as a crocodile (accepting whatever) and then as an eagle (refined and exquisite).-
Be sure it is what you want to do. Be prepared to work extremely long hours and to forego any meaningful social life for the first few years, until your practice is established. In the Criminal law in particular, practice is not for the faint hearted. You definitely need a tough extrerior and lots of self confidence.
If you see it through, you will be presented with one of the most enjoyable, dynamic and rewarding careers.
I would advise them to talk with people in the profession that they know and try out different areas of law to see what suits them best (working in court, working in-house, etc.).
It is what you put into it. It does not just come to you.
go for it make a different in other ppl live. and never give up and most of all never take it personally.
Be prepared to work hard, long hours regardless of whether you join an international or small firm.
If you enjoy solving problems for people, go full steam ahead. If you are averse to conflict, then choose another profession. The legal profession is rife with conflict and very detail oriented. Many of the judges and lawyers have tremendous egos and like to flex them at the expense of others, without regard for ethics. Often they believe they are being ethical, but have no regard for the humanity of the profession. I believe the profession has lost a lot of its humanity and it would do the profession a lot of good for professional courtesy and honest character to be a main stay.
I would advise them to stick at it if they really want to succeed. There can be set backs as with any profession. |
