ART
What do you do? How do you define yourself as an artist?
a long time i work with stone. with the time it was more important to choose a good quality of stone and to change from ordinary building walls with stones, to have all the time stones around, to become more creative with this heavy work what it seemes.
living as a musician, writing as a editor keeping high values like freedom, liberty and independence has been the way that created me.
even when talents are not mine than a gift of god, i am very thankful that i have the possibility to do so.
"to be and to act as an artist, you have to be an expert in marketing and communication".
What is your message?
to make some announcements for the community, have work as a meditative doing, be connected with wake people elsewhere, doing some input for the mind of other people. surrealistic, zeitgenoessisch, cooperativ, engaged for art buisness, devoted....
with every work the message is different.
Heart, Head, Hand......................have devotion and be patience!

How is an idea born? For you, what is inspiration?
there are many kinds of inspirations and also different ways of holding the ideas. mostly ideas and inspirations come through simply living, reading the news, through publicity in the medias, walking in the city or in the nature, but sometimes it happens that there is a vision for or of something which touches my heart and in the followup mind is searching for an expressive answer or solution which could be made. it is not always possible to find or work it out thats the ups and downs like everywhere in life! but true inspiration will be given or will be found when the dream comes into real.
What role does technology play in your creative process?
do you have the drive licence? can you handle between peer to peer and PHP or are you the one who read in wikipedia. as far as tech things do support your work and you can work also with your hands everything is in the flow. but if you become a tech maniac the creative process will be disturbed...
i can have a creative process when nothing is disturbing me, but all the flow comes from the harmonic nature in sound, light and all its elements.
What is art?
can be a concept, but is for shure an artistic or special created and worked out object or event which has a certain value for people and changes also throug the presence place, embiance and gives a hint or idea for the observer. In the same moment an artefact has a higher value then just a dayly object and tool. when art is good, people who react somehow, when art is not good, same can happen in a contrary way.
when i started my work as a sculptor, and i became social with other arists, this question (who is an artist?) followed me for a certain time, until i had some different answers which satisfied me to make just good work, as best as possible!
When do you get your best ideas?
on sunrise, very early morning.
at the 9.30 coffee
during work
before sleeping and dreaming
How do you evaluate whether an idea is good or not?
in thinking through again and again and again and again. in talks to like minded friends and artist. in allowing me to make even mistakes, doing it and see how it is after.
you can never go wrong when YOU have not to evaluate your own work. this should be the freedom of an artist, let others evaluate!
But anyway sometimes in sculpture i got a very strong feeling when myself i like what i worked on and look at the end or in an exposure. because when work is finished this process will start and gives yourself a good feeling. when the contrary is reality, thats even not your problem anymore. still you can make a gift of your idea.
Three creative ideas that you would have liked to have created?
a fountain with light combination (kunst am bau)
marble blocks transformation in carrara,
When and how did you begin to see yourself as an artist?
when other people show me a mirroir and effectively when the selling started to give me the possibilty to live on my created work.
Why do so many artists and creators have such volatile personalities?
to live as an artist is hard until you are a star, get rich with your work. i think its not a very good question.
in society the psycotics or ill persons have their places in institutions, when u have to cross the border of reality there are no more borders do work and live on.so you have to decide from the moment for alot of things. just to survive.
How should a work of art be evaluated?
first it is up to you, when it is finished, to love, to like or to leave it. then you get all the compliments when something you ve created is good, but with compiments you can not live on. after many compiments, when you show around, offers will come. this is the natural way of evaluation.
when you have many times did this circle, your name becomes evaluated..................the best is to listen to your art friends and not get mad when they tell you their truth.
Does it pain you to let go of a piece you have sold?
in the first step there is the joy to create smething, to have time and space to have a creative job without any thougts of price and money.
there is the joy to see it even when its finished and is expos ed in different environements. when there is the time to see and share with somebody the same joy when somebody would like to have it near or to get it like a present, thats the time when i can leave it without a pain.
in the beginning it was not that easy, but one of my teachers told me when you have the possibility to sell, do it! success for an independent worker is honour and/or money. then you can go further and live on.
a peace which i like too much i will not expose and try to sell.
In art, there is no guide. How do you know what the next step is?
there are, there are!
i m just working on one also, but art is so a huge part of different things that it can confuse you like it did me first. some people think to put a hat over their work and call it art in thinking it would help them to get fast and rich (even some did it this way).but art is so many different professions that it is hard to speak in general.
good art schools give guidelines, artist groups, institutions make their own guides, but good artist have to manage their work with a good communication and also with a good marketing.
