HARMONY
 | What is your specialty? How do you help people find harmony? Look at the rest of the Natural World, and how it always seeks balance and equilibrium. The beautiful synchronicities of Nature are replicated within us. We have detached ourselves from this. Our ancestors observed, listened and lived with the rhythms of the Earth. Trees are conduits between the Earth and the Heavens. I invite students to begin with the ancient Druidic Ogham symbols for indigenous trees to help healing and bring inner balance. This guides us towards awareness and respect for ourselves and the Earth. Less fear and more love is the aim. |
 | Can you provide a link to a web site or blog where we can learn more about you? www.earthwisdom.co.uk - including blog |
 | What were the circumstances that led you to choose the professional path you have chosen? As a child I thought everyone could "hear" Nature. After a challenging, sometimes distressing and discontented life path I have now rediscovered what truly makes me whole. One step away from fear and into light has enabled my Natural friends to guide and nurture me. |
 | What is happiness, and the main obstacle to reaching it? I truly believe that happiness comes from inner peace through finding one's own "god" from connection to Nature. Connection meaning at one with, not separate from. We are part of the Earth, not walking on it.
The main obstacle is looking outward to acquisition and greed. This reflects an inner emptiness, which cannot be filled by objects, or by other people. Fear and Love are polar opposites. Everyone comes from one of these motivators |
 | Do we think too much? Why is it so difficult to feel here and now? The basic elements from which we are composed are the same elements which make up the whole of existence. They need to be in balance, as the rest of Nature is. Mind, body, our essence, emotions and our Spirit all work elegantly and effortlessly when in balance. There is a tendency these days to overvalue thought. This can create disharmony and eventually dis-ease |
 | How do you deal with discouragement, despair, a sense of setback, etc.? As I observe the co-ordination of Nature I am made aware of the existence of a bigger plan, even though I may only be able to see this in hindsight. This allows me to step back and trust. I have had enough despair in my life when Fear was my motivator. I have not allowed this into my life for years now, even though I have come very close to it at times. When this happens I know my trust in the synchronicity of the Universe is being tested, and this trust wavers only very slightly these days. It is much too strong for me to lose faith. |
 | Are meditation and prayer cultural variants of the same thing? No. My understanding of meditation is to be in a place of peace in order for the chakras to re-align. This means an altering of the mindset. Prayer is a connection to a higher spiritual force to give thanks, and ask for guidance or healing |
 | Is faith necessary for spirituality to work? Not quite sure what you mean by spirituality. This means different things to different people. I know that everything in existence has its own spirit, and the way I work is for my individual spirit to reach out and connect with other spirits.
For me, Spirituality comes from within, whereas a religion is based around belief in an outer deity. Both of these have a faith that belief can bring about change. So I guess the answer is yes! |
 | Is it necessary to have a teacher to find the way? Yes, whether that teacher be human or otherwise. My training for healing was with the National Federation of Spiritual Healers, and their down-to-earth spirituality is the foundation for all my teachings of Reiki, Celtic Earth Magic, Tarot. My other teachers are ancestral and Nature-based. |
 | Is it necessary to have a purpose to find meaning in life? It's sometimes sad, isn't it, to view people who seem to have everything materially and emotionally, yet have no purpose or meaning in life? For me, and from observing others who have a purpose, one has to have a passion. Perhaps having too many material acquisitions, or creating a so-called perfect life squashes the individual essence which drives us forwards with passion. I frequently find this diminishes the energy in the sacral centre. |
 | Is it wise to believe in things that do not exist if it helps you to be happy? Surely if a thought is in your imagination it DOES exist? This is part of Shamanism. Non-ordinary reality is still reality, and can help us to search our subconscious for answers |
 | How do you distinguish between spirituality and religion? I have already answered this, but to expand a little, I think the challenge with religion, and a deity which asks to be worshipped, as opposed to honoured, is that this disempowers us, and is controlling. Humans do like to be part of a community, but if this discourages individuality and freedom of thought we are, again, not in balance with our unique essence, which allows us to have the most fulfilling and joyful existence. |
 | Is God an idea? Is God in the brain? If you use the word "God" in the West it conjures up an image created by the Christian church. If you need to name the ever-present energy which is in all of existence then "God" is not a "he" or a "she". It is not judgmental or segregating. It is based in unconditional Love, pure and simple. It is so simple that the modern human brain can't accept it. That's why we have opulent man-made structures, and hierarchical religious systems. Power and control is an awesome achievement by major religions. |
 | What is your concept of free will Vs destiny, fate, karma? We have a contract to fulfill, which we signed up for before we were born. Life and fear often distract us from our path. The feeling of peace and joy which comes from following our yellow brick road cannot be easily explained. With Shamanic journeying, when we are stuck we can revisit our contract and discover clarity. |
 | Do you believe in the law of attraction: that we attract what we think about? Definitely |
 | In what ways has your spiritual practice affected your creativity? In every way possible. My creativity stems from my Spiritual connection |
