| What was it that made you create your blog? On what date did you start it? I wrote a blog as part of my job in marketing at a start-up. When I lost my job, I missed blogging so much I started my own, despite my great reluctance to write about ... ME! |
| What blogging system have you adopted and why? Wordpressis simply the best. |
| How many visits a day do you get? What type of comments do you receive? 150-300 visits per day. People share their own memories of Chicago-related experiences, particularly people who grew up in the same neighborhood I did between 1930-1980. |
| How has 'having a blog' contributed to your life? I've made many new acquaintances, found new interests and approach day to day living with greaterventhusiasm. |
| Have you created relationships with other bloggers or readers of your blog? Absolutely. |
| How often do you post? Does regular posting of your blog require a lot of effort on your part? I try to post once a week. Since I have a second blog for my business, it's not easy to come up with two posts per week. |
| Does blogging bring in income for you? Can one make a living from posting? No money, just glory. |
| How do you promote your blog? On Facebook I announce when I have a new post. Also I tweet the link to my blog. I had business cards, actually cute Moo cards made up for the blog. |
| How would you define your readers? Have you got a faithful audience? I have about 55 subscribers and many repeat commenters. People tell me they love it all the time. |
| Are there any blogs you follow daily or regularly? Too many to list. |
| Have you ever received gifts for blogging about your opinion of products or services? What do you think of bloggers who do that? No. |
| How do you see your blog evolving in the future? Bigger! More posts, more readers, more publicity. |
| What advice would you give to someone who wishes to begin a blog? Write 25 blogposts before going live. |
