Interview with:

Patrick Harter [freshhcustoms]

DESIGN
What is your specialty?
I just started a company called Freshh Customs. I've had the idea for a while, and decided that since i know so many people in the music industry, i should try and get it off of the ground. Freshh Customs specializes in taking regular music gear, and customizing the appearance of it. a "Pimp my amp" if you will, haha.
Where can we view your portfolio online?
You can check out pictures, and contact me mainly on my facebook page. the address is www.FreshhCustoms.com it will link you directly to the facebook
How do you promote and move your work?
It's all word of mouth. Any industry these days works that way, but music especially. I use the contacts I have, to try and expand on a daily basis. Facebook, Twitter, Itchy Metal Entertainment. All really good tools for getting a business off of the ground nowadays
Shapes, color, concept: where do you usually begin when conceiving a design?
I like to sit down with the person and figure out a design that will compliment their personality on stage.
Which festivals or awards in your field do you find most interesting?
I'd like to eventually get Freshh Customs a booth at the NAMM show. But that's down the road :-)
MUSIC
What do you do? What is your musical specialty?
Besides Freshh Customs, I am a musician. I Play drums mainly, but have been expanding to other instruments, and writing my own songs, and recording them. I'm the former drummer from The Higher, Ministry Of Love, and Exit Ghost, and currently (besides my own projects) am playing drums for Joey Resly.
Is there a web address where one can listen, see, or read some of your work?
I just got my reverbnation page up and running. some of the music I've been making is up in rough, demo form. http://www.reverbnation.com/patrickharter
Please list discography in which you have participated.
The Higher - Star Is Dead - Fiddler Records The Higher - Histrionics - Fiddler Records The Higher - On Fire - Epitaph Records Exit Ghost - Exist EP - No Label Ministry Of Love - Vision: Critical EP - No Label
What part of your job is your least favourite?
My least favorite part about being a musician would have to be.. not being on tour anymore. I see it again in the future, but i miss the road. I miss the stage. I miss meeting new people, in a new place everyday.
Which musicians or groups have been inspiring to your career?
Favorite musicians and groups would have to be (no specific order) Pink Floyd The Mars Volta Children Of Bodom Minus The Bear The Beatles The Doors The Ventures
Who would you play with, without a doubt?
The Mars Volta. David Gilmour. Justin Timberlake
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the business?
Don't rush it. Take your time when creating music. Take your time with any type of label/management. Do as much on your own as you possibly can. A record label likes to see that they don't have to 'baby' a band. They are busy people, and love to see that a band can get things done on their own.
