I am expected to deliver surprise knowledge about the future and an intelligent laugh

Absolutely not. I will go on learning untill I am 93 years, 5 months, 6 days old
In which tasks are you good at, and in which could you better yourself?
Good at: presenting the future in front of a large audience

Do you usually attended seminars or coursework to advance your professional work or would you consider yourself a more self-taught person?
Self-taught. I learn constantly from the audiences I speak to. That is you!
When did you realise that your work was being considered important and that it could possibly take you places?
The first time someone asked me to speak about Internet and paid me for it as well. "Internet, what is that?"
With which types of persons do you feel you work well with as a team?
I would love to meet you :-)

Singularity Hub. Shaping Tomorrow. Techcast. Hall Five. The Futurist.
Which languages do you speak, and how have you learned them?
I can present the future in Dutch and in English. I can talk to you in German and French. No need for language education in the future though; we will have realtime translation tools soon.
Do you have a website or blog? How was the process in making it? Does it accomplish the purpose for which it was created?
In the beginning of Internet, the list of all websites in my country fitted on 1 screen. One screen only! Oh simple times... My site was one of them. Check out www.futurecheck.com
How do you feel about speaking in front of an audience? What experience have you had in this arena?
It's my job! Love it!
I have given hundreds of interactive presentations about the future. You know, keen professionals and hungry students. Multinationals, research institutes, governments.
Do you attend cocktail parties, presentations, fairs or conventions related to your profession?
Too little. Don't like it. Makes me feel like a salesman, which I am not. Should do it though.
Have you explored the social networks for professionals online? Are you member of any of them?
Of course. Tried all of them.
How is the Interent changing the way you work?
Game Generation says: "To us, learning and working is game"
Do you do telecommuting?
Yeah, about 10 meters each day, from my house to the office in my garden.
Besides your current profession, what other things would you have liked to have been?
Personal trainer
When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
No one taught me how to dream. Had to learn it the hard way - by myself
