 | How do you define your political position? What is the ideology that inspires it? Socialist. From those according to their ability to those according to their need. Government is the tool of the people and that it should provide for the common good in sharing the commonwealth. Free healthcare. Free Education from K to 4th year based on ability. Free telecommunications through a unified telephone and internet service. A national rail and air transport system strictly regulated to provide safe, frequent low cost travel. Affordable clean and comfortable housing strictly regulated to prevent abuses from bad banking practices. Egregiously high salaries and perks for top management will be severely curtailed. Finally the promotion of the arts, culture and healthy leisure be provided. |
| What matters more in deciding your vote: the party, the candidate, or the ideas? I vote for those who are concerned with improving the lot of the workers, poor and elderly. |
| Do you think religion has a place in politics? Religion is a psychopathological disease that has no place in government. There should be guaranteed freedom from religion. |
| Are high abstention levels a serious problem for democracies? question is meaningless. Abstention from what, sex, booze and/or corruption? |
| Should parties that want to eliminate democracy be allowed to participate in democratic elections? With the fundamental freedom of speech, anti-democrats have a right to present their position. Should a majority vote agree, then they have won. |
| Are Right and Left obsolete concepts? With the advent of the fascist Tea Party, it is obvious that it is a current concept. |
| Why does hunger continue to exist in the world? Is this the result of a deliberate policy? It is the result of deliberate criminal policy of capitalists to manipulate the costs of basic food stuffs, causing an artificial rise in price whilst there is a surplus available to feed the needy. |
| What type of information should a government be able to legally maintain on about its citizens? Merely that what is necessary to maintain the census as directed by the Constitution. |
| What political figures in recent history do you admire most? Harry Bridges, Eugene Debs, Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy. |
| Two-party systems are on the rise: is this good for politics? In the USA, there is now a three party system. The Democratic Party, the Republican Party and the Tea Party that is a barnacle on the backside of the Republican Party |
| Should any territory have the right of self-determination if a majority of the population votes in favour of doing so? If the popular vote is for self-determination, then that should be respected. Civil wars are rarely successful and always very bitter and bloody. |
| Does a state have the right to attack or intervene in another country that has not attacked said state, if the country has committed grave injustices or crimes against humanity? Intervention to stop holocausts is morally justified by the saving of lives. |
| Are we witnessing the end of the American empire? The US is still very young and currently going through growing pains. Wait until it is five hundred years old and then ask that question. |
| Why did the economies of communist countries fail? The USSR was unable to keep up with the costs of supporting a vast military in response to the threat from the western nations. The American conservatives started a cold war in 1945 from an imagined threat from the USSR. At that time the infrastructure of the USSR had been devastated by the invading and retreating Germans. It had lost millions of people from the war and was strapped while struggling to provide a socialist society. While the US had been rejuvenated by the war with a flourishing infrastructure that catered not only to the needs of the people but fostered the military-industrial conspiracy that fed the fears of Americans with the Red Menace and the Yellow Peril. Simply, the capitalist outspent the socialists. Now the so-called capitalist system is bankrupt, being hung on its own petard. |
| What is nationalism? Nationalism is an overweening assumed sense of national superiority. See Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. |
| Do you actively or economically collaborate with any social organization, NGO, etc.? I have no means to economically collaborate with anything. |
| Do you believe in any of the conspiracy theories regarding 9-11? I think that Bush knew in advance of the attacks because he hid in a classroom in Florida. When told of the attacks he had no reaction. His body language said that this was no surprise. Also Bush took a page out of history that had been written by Hitler who had used the excuse of the Reichstag fire in January1933 to seize power and void all of the constitutions of the German states and set up homeland security. |
| Are there peoples more civilized than others? Or is it merely a question of cultural differences? Old cultures tend to be more civilized than the rude young ones. It is a given that the citizens of many European countries have a better quality of life, advanced civilization and more evolved cultures than that of the USA. |
| Are there too many taxes? No, since the rich and corporations are not paying any taxes. |
| Do you believe in affirmative action? Yes, the struggle to defeat racial bigotry continues. |
| Does globalisation help in the development of the world's poorest countries, or does it perpetuate conditions of exploitation? Globalization is the ruse of super corporations to exploit everyone and keep the the third in their thrall. |
| Should a maximum limit of permissible personal fortune exist; and thereby, place limits on individual wealth? The amassing of excessive personal wealth is criminal and serves only self-agrandizement of megalomania |
| Do you defend the ecotaxes? As long as the hinder the exploitation of the world's natural resources. |
| Should consensual offenses such as drug use or prostitution be legalized? State supplied drugs would insure quality and low cost, thereby reducing the crime rate and removing profit as a motive to indulge in the drug trade. Prostitution should be legalized to remove pimps and to promote health and safety of the workers and clients while being taxed. |
| Are you pro-choice or pro-life? A women's body is her own and should she require an abortion, it should be available in a safe clinical environment since a feotus is not a viable human being until it can exist safely outside the womb. |
| Are you in favor of or against the death penalty? When it comes to corrupt politicians and big business managers I could favour the dealth penalty for crimes against the people. |
| Should homosexual couples have the same right to adopt as heterosexual couples? Yes as they provide loving homes based on sound moral values |
| Do you believe that the world crisis can bring positive changes to social values? With 85% of the wealth held by 1% of the population, revolution is inevitable to be followed by period of chaos then a period of despotism before the people voices will have any sway. |
| What significant changes do you think Obama can bring about along his presidential term? Better universal healthcare, education and improve the quality of life that has been ruined by the class warfare waged by the conservatives and their supporters, the big corporations. |
