CREATIVITY
How and why did you begin to be creative?
As a kid; I had a pencil.
Your mind is your work tool. How do you take care of it?
High octane beer.
How do you avoid repeating yourself, or falling into formula? How do you stay fresh?
Hang onto your childhood instincts.
Do you have a ritual like retiring to a lonely place from time to time to cleanse your mind?
"Do you have a ritual like retiring to a lonely place from time to time to cleanse your mind?" No, my mind is always trying to figure out answers even if it is how to find enough pennies to buy my next beer.
What cultural sources do you draw from the most?
any and all.
Who have your teachers been?
Been what? The only and best one was Mrs Coffee, she listened as I sat in front of the class and whispered commentary to her.
When you accept a job, how much value do you place on each of the following? Money, creative liberty, visibility, and to work with the best.
Doing the best despite my limitations.
Have you ever had a job that was so stimulating that you could not get your mind off of it?
Drink enough beer and it goes away until the next day.
"To give birth to ideas." Is this only an expression, or are there really parallels between giving birth and creativity?
er uh, ideas come from, for me, from visuals and on occasions dreams.
Does spirituality contribute to your creativity?
No.
It is possible to fall in love with a bad idea simply because it is yours. How do you avoid this?
"It is possible to fall in love with a bad idea simply because it is yours." Thank the gods such thinking falls apart quickly.

"Must someone be the leader or boss in order for a creative team to function well?" Such people get in the way.

No One.
What criteria do you use when selecting someone to be a part of your creative team?
None.

"The armchair psychologist: Is creativity an act of rebellion for you?" Yes, it is better than driving a pencil into your ear.
What is the best advertisement you've seen recently?
Cheep beer.
Do you work well under pressure?
Unfortunately, yes.
What city in the world currently attracts you due to its creative environment?
I live in small town America, what do I know about... a city in the world that currently attracts me due to its creative environment.
How is an idea sold?
Just as soon give it away. Someone else has already had the idea anyway; do not step on toes unless you know you will get a reaction.
What do you feel when, after two or three years, you see an idea of yours again?
I should quite drinking.
Ideas can come simultaneously to different people in different places with no connection to one another. How do you explain this phenomenon?
Weather, it gets around.
You are as good as your last idea. Wouldn't you like to have a more secure type of work?
