| How did you begin to develop your talent? Have you possesed it since you were a child? I am a self-taught designer who started doing this at the age of 16 yrs old. I have always loved to draw at a very young age. |
| What importance has professional training had on your career? On job training from the veterans of the trade is what I deem as the best form of training. |
| When did you first realize you could make a living this way? Was the passion that drove me & realised that this was possible when i was 16 yrs old |
| What people or experiences have taught you the most and helped you to arrive where you are? PASSION, PERSISTENCE & PRESERVATION - my 3 "P"s. This is what the past 27 years has taught me to ahere to this profession. |
| What is your concept of beauty? Why does it change so much from one culture to another, or from one era to another? My personnel concept of beauty is the SOUL. To me culture may be different, but if you really analyse them, they are really all quite the same! |
| Do you need to love what you do, or does professionalism suffice? Most definitely!! For any form of arts, passion is so important! |
| What do you do when a client requests something that you believe is not suitable for him/her? Understanding their points of view first & then talk and express you point of view to them ie their body shape, skin tone and features. |
| Besides advising clients, do you also educate them? I talk and understand my clients - education is two ways! |
| Isn't there a cult of vanity in premeditated publicity and fashion poses? No...... it is just a person's prospective of what fashion is to them |
| Your definition of "glamour"? Self-confidence! |
| Being surrounded by a different style can cause a person to feel different. Can such a feeling transform a person? Surroundings definitely influences and tranforms a person outlook in life and fashion palette. |
| What trends do you see gaining momentum? Fashion trends are a cycle - like life and the decades in time.
What was in vogue in the 70's, 80's and 90's make a comeback again now, but is conceptualised with different fabrication and technics to make today's fashion trend. |
| Make a prediction: how long will the fashion of piercing and tattoos last? As long as time will permit!
An art form from the past that is still so popular today! |
