CREATIVITY
 | How and why did you begin to be creative? I work in the comedy industry so i guess the first time i started making jokes and realising that people found it funny. That would have been at school. Then as an adult, I did a creative writing course and i used to write pieces that the other class members found funny. i sort of took it from there |
| Your mind is your work tool. How do you take care of it? I think i take care of my mind by trying to use it as much as possible |
| How do you avoid repeating yourself, or falling into formula? How do you stay fresh? for a comedian, it's all about new material. the more you write, the less you feel stale |
| Do you have a ritual like retiring to a lonely place from time to time to cleanse your mind? no. i'm not keen on lonely places |
| Who have your teachers been? This sounds a bit cheesy but I've learnt from anyone i've met who's curious about life |
| When you accept a job, how much value do you place on each of the following? Money, creative liberty, visibility, and to work with the best. I try to only do gigs that i want to do because they'll be fun but sometimes, i will do gigs purely for the money. Regarding working with the best, i do that any time i get the chance |
| Have you ever had a job that was so stimulating that you could not get your mind off of it? sometimes after really good gigs, i have trouble sleeping for a few hours but i'm much better at calming myself down nowadays |
| "To give birth to ideas." Is this only an expression, or are there really parallels between giving birth and creativity? I've never given birth so i have no idea what that's like but there are moments on stage when you say something funny and spontaneous and it's a nice feeling. And i would imagine a lot less painful than childbirth |
| Does spirituality contribute to your creativity? not really. it's more about irritation |
| Do you work well under pressure? I'm a professional comedian. So i guess the answer is yes |
| What city in the world currently attracts you due to its creative environment? Born in London. Live in London. Will probably die in London |
| How is an idea sold? For comedian, it's all about passion, commitment and timing |
| What do you feel when, after two or three years, you see an idea of yours again? I forget jokes from time to time and when people ask me to do a routine i've forgotten and they tell me what it is, i quite enjoy hearing it again |
| You are as good as your last idea. Wouldn't you like to have a more secure type of work? No. I've tried that and i prefer what i'm doing now |

| Did God create the world in seven days, or do you believe in the theory of evolution? Seriously? Evolution. I see no evidence of the existence of God |
| Do you believe many illnesses can be caused by the mind? I honestly have no idea. |
