COACH
What types of coaching do you do? Who are your clients?
I do home business coaching from an professional and experiential perspective. As a twenty year veteran of the psychotherapy profession as well as a trained business coach (Global Consulting Partnership), I come to the home business/internet marketing arena with a different type of experience than most. I'm on year four of my self-taught internet network marketing journey. During that time I've gone from a rank beginner when it came to anything internet related, to a respected professional, coach and consultant in the field.

My clients are primarily other professionals or work from home moms and dads who realize that there is much more to life than having a J.O.B. Most of my clients are highly self-motivated and primarily need some assistance in finding the right direction and tools to use on the road to their dreams and goals. If that is you, I can help.
Can you provide a link to a site where we can get to know more about you, the type of work you do and/or the place where you do it?
How did you get into coaching?
Coaching in the home business and internet marketing arena is a natural outgrowth of my professional background combined with my passion for working independently and teaching others to do the same.
Do you have innate qualities, or is it something that you learned?
As I said earlier, I have been a Clinical Social Worker with a private psychotherapy practice for many, many years. So the training is clearly present. However, I have always had a knack for teaching and training along with a strong intuitive sense of what people need on a deeper level than their words might convey. My listening skills are excellent, and I can also hear between the lines.
Can you describe briefly the technique or methodology you use?
I start from a mantra of "always begin where the client is". My job/role is to support and encourage and coach you in the areas that you need. So first I must learn what those are. I do that by asking a lot of questions, many of them unusual to those have never worked with my before. My goal is to get you to think about your life and your goals in a way that is new and ultimately more beneficial and productive.

From that point we get to work. The work is different with every person, because it's not about my agenda, it's about yours. I have ideas, experiences, resources and techniques that I will use to guide you on your path, but the path uniquely belongs to you.
What must the person you are helping contribute?
They must contribute the motivation and commitment necessary to move forward in their own lives, along with an openness to new ideas and to creating change within themselves.
Can positive thinking can be developed into a habit?
Absolutely! Anything can be developed into a habit with the right level of desire, motivation and support.
What are your personal relationships like with the people you work with?
I love this question. In my years as a psychotherapist, ethical considerations and the Social Worker Code of Ethics, preventing me from having any personal relationship with my clients, even years after their therapy was completed.

When doing home business coaching, there is no need for this type of arrangement. Most of my work is done over the phone, so it's unusual for me to develop a true "in person" friendship with my clients, but the relationship that we do create is more balanced than I had in my prior profession. Often times we will share back and forth, family information, stories and experiences. Clients of mine with sometimes ask to work with me in my other business, after we have completed the coaching sessions. Given the nature of this work, that is not unusual and if it's in the best interest of both parties, we go forward.
What is usually the main obstacle your clients face?
Most people have trouble getting out of their own way. They are filled with ideas and enthusiasm, but lack a number of factors which are necessary to take them from thoughts and planning, to massive all out action. This reluctance to take true action is usually fear based, though many need help seeing it as such. With the right tools and understanding of what it takes to get from point A to point B, many people can begin their journey.
How do you recommend selecting a coach? Should it be someone who has followed the path that he/she wants to? Should it be someone they admire?
Your coach first and foremost needs to be someone you are comfortable with, who also has the experience and skill set to be of service to you. I highly recommend that people interview their coach. Ask questions related to your situation as well as questions about the coaches methods, values and experience. It helps to work with someone who has an understanding of the nature of your situation and desires.

Many coaches will opening share their areas of interest and passion. If you need a coach to help you with foreign language learning, you are not going to get far with a coach who does not specialize in that are. At the same time, a coach who has integrity will not want to work with you either, if they cannot help you with the area in which you are focused.
