What made you interested in design?
Designing - the ability to convey a message through creative art/concept
Production - the ability to convert creative art/concept into usable format for purpose of media output.
What has been your professional career path?
Full time: Typesetter, mac operator, senior mac operator, flash animation, a little tv endframes experience thrown in along the way.
Presently: Offsite freelance utilising all above skills plus high end powerpoint/presentation production.
Have you received any awards for your work in the field of design?
In the field for production - yes.
What is your motivation? What makes you get up in the mornings?
Ideas motivate me. My beautiful kids get me up in the mornings!!!!
How would you define your design style?
Clean, with a dash of colour.
How do you promote and move your work?
Web, word of mouth.
In which new areas would you like to experiment?
More After Effects production, I find the extend of what it can do, providing the user has enough knowledge, is rather exciting.... I am still learning :)
Shapes, color, concept: where do you usually begin when conceiving a design?
"what is the story"... that is possibly where I begin..
What are your sources for documentation and to generate ideas?
What is your favourite type of customer?
Communication is the key point.
To a certain point, is copying justifiable?
Each to their own. I don't think copying justify you as being a creative.
List some things you dislike seeing in design.
Too many elements cramped into a small space...
Do you believe the newer generations are better at designing?
With which type of client would you decline in working for?
Life would be a lot easier, if I don't encounter the ones who gives me a deadline, starts the project, stops the project and then comes back and wants the finished project "yesterday"....
How do you calculate budgets for a design project?
After the first brief, I estimate the hours, and give the client a fixed quote.

InDesign, Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Powerpoint
