I prefer simpler designs such as the Pantheon, but I am only just beginning

Greek, and Roman

My laptop, revit and cadd
In which city do you live or work and why?
Minneapolis, Because it is where I was led to be.
Do you work with other architects? How is the team set up?
Only teachers, but I have worked with teams and firmly believe that there should be one head in the group for everyone to go to.
What do you think of competitions? What types of competitions do you normally compete in?
I don't think I would
Mantaining the signature of a building, how is the identity of the surroundings respected?
The surroundings of a building are its frame and I have believe in taking into account context even before planning a building
Which architects, past or present, do you admire?
The Master Architect, who created all of creation. Louis Kahn, Appolodorous who talked back to Hadrian and paid with his head. Many more...
In your professional philosophy, what comes first, function or form?
Form should follow and accommodate function.
Do you view suburban sprawl as an ecological threat and a waste of resources? Do you advocate for more vertical and denser town planning?
NO!
What will the single-family home of 2050 be like?

For you, which new materials provoke the most interest?
I'm interested in heating via the subfloor, solar ,wind energy and green technologies that spring more from older time tested technologies.
Bioclimactic architecture, domotic systems...do you think we are approaching a profound revolution in architecture?
I hope.
In the development of a project, do you feel closer to the client or to the public as a whole who will use the final product?
The client with a bent to making the client aware of the public.
The pharahons built pyramids, and bankers skyscrapers: will architecture always be a symbol of power?
Absolutely
Imagine your ideal house. Where would it be? What would it be like?
dream? a small isolated temple like building with no furniture, marble pillars and floors with a small pool at the end of entrance door which overlooks the sea.Greece or, realistically, and adobe home in Arizona and someplace else both near and far....
Can one copy and still be original?
People have been doing it since the very first building, yes.
Where is the balance between deeply-rooted architecture and that which responds to its particular era?
I can't say that there is a proper balance
Spectacular architecture: do you believe that buildings are becoming more and more media phenomena?
no, storehouses for worker bees.
What motto would you like to see inscribed at the entrance of the university's department of architecture?
This to shall pass!
What would be your dream project at this moment?
At the moment, a deep stone, tranquil area with fountains , fairly monochromatic, still quiet, with and entrance like a tunnel, and an outdoor garden, rather large with glass domes and walls on the east and west. Outside of that fantasy, I would like to build homes for the poor.
