 | What is your specialty? With an ever-changing industry, having to reinvent yourself ever so often, is never a bad thing. Being part of one of the countries leading marketing services plc, has helped me do just that. I am part of the growing Creative agency, Ingenious Rapport. Myself and the creative individuals here, are able to turn our hand and experience to all forms of creative marketing within a wide range of sectors. From Public to private, financial to tourism, we service and excel at them all. |

| What made you interested in design? The feeling of how a design problem can make you mad then suddenly give you everything! Its the trip to that final design the research,the immersion in to the whole world of look and feel excites me! |
| What has been your professional career path? From junior designer through middleweight to senior, then in to senior creative management, who knows where next ? |
| Have you received any awards for your work in the field of design? D&AD student Silver, More O'Farell Gold award. CIPR gold award for design and marketing overall Grand Prix CIPR award |
| What is your motivation? What makes you get up in the mornings? knowing that something different will occur. |
| How would you define your design style? New, challenging, ever changing |
| How do you promote and move your work? Referals, social media, friends, and national press |
| In which new areas would you like to experiment? Social media, ambient media, guerrilla media. |
| Shapes, color, concept: where do you usually begin when conceiving a design? concept |
| What are your sources for documentation and to generate ideas? Everthing, web, notebooks, reference, nature, my peers, other related industry. |
| Which festivals or awards in your field do you find most interesting? D&AD, Cream Awards, Chip shop awards (keeps me grounded) |
| What is your favourite type of customer? "oh i don't know just do what you think" |
| To a certain point, is copying justifiable? Copying is never justified, using reference to come up with something different is better |
| List some things you dislike seeing in design. Comic sans!!!! Cheap design. Clients not realising the price of design and creative. Not wanting to pay for a service they receive, would they not pay for a mechanic to fix their car? |
| Do you believe the newer generations are better at designing? I think there are a lot of talented designers around, young and old. Having a decent design head isn't solely the remit of the young... |
| With which type of client would you decline in working for? I would take each client on merit. Sometimes the cheaper client work can surprise you. |
| How do you calculate budgets for a design project? I take a look at the client, decide whether they can afford a certain level, and adjust accordingly |
| Which professionals in your field -contemporary or past- do you most admire? John (Sir) Hegarty, Michael C Place. |
| Which software applications do you most utilize in your work? Creative Suite and all its wonderful parts, and the Mk 1.0 pencil and pad |
| Up to what point do your designs reflect your personality? all the way.... |
| How do you distinguish passing fads from mainstays in new trends? passing fads are the design styles you see everywhere, designers that pinch others ideas and sell them as their own. |
| If you weren't a designer, what would you be doing? Pilot in the RAF |
| At this moment, what would be your dream job or project? Special effects designer and builder, for the film and TV industry |
| Can you see yourself in this field twenty years from now? I may be dead tomorrow, so not sure how to answer that. I woud like to be but who knows what can happen next! |
