WRITING
 | What did you first read? How did you begin to write? Who were the first to read what you wrote? Wizard of Oz.
10 years old.
My teacher. |
 | What is your favorite genre? Can you provide a link to a site where we can read some of your work or learn something about it? drama in prose. |
 | What is your creative process like? What happens before sitting down to write? When it comes to prose: I have an idea, then i think I should start working on it. I visualize the structure and the characters, the plot and others details, then, I begin to write.
When it comes to poetry... I just put my thoughts in words... and then I make my proof. |
 | What type of reading inspires you to write? My inspiration doesn't come from my readings. |
 | What do you think are the basic ingredients of a story? I don't believe in secret prescription of success. But a good story has to be written with coherence, and to be really "loved" by its author. |
 | What voice do you find most to your liking: first person or third person? The third person. |
 | What well known writers do you admire most? Thomas Mann, Honoré de Balzac, Victor Hugo, Guy de Maupassant, Gabriel José García Márquez, Mircea Eliade, Alexandru Paleologu, Octavian Paler. |
 | What is required for a character to be believable? How do you create yours? A character needs credibility: to be suitable for the circumstances which generate the plot; and also to be featured in a convincing manner.
Usually I focus on my main character, giving her/him the "power" to generate defining actions by finding an "real life correspondent". |
 | Are you equally good at telling stories orally? Sometimes. I often tend to loose myself in details. |
 | Deep down inside, who do you write for? For an invisible reader, who is very important for me. |
 | Is writing a form of personal therapy? Are internal conflicts a creative force? Yes, writing is a form of therapy and yes, the internal conflicts generates force to create. Writing save my life and my sanity for a few times. |
 | Does reader feed-back help you? I do not know why, but for me could be a joy only for the moment to receive feed-back from my readers. Most of the time I don't "see" them. I write because I "burn" to write, not necessary to be read. I write because I feel inspired, not because I am asked to do this. |
 | Do you participate in competitions? Have you received any awards? I used to participate long time ago and I do have some awards. |
 | Do you share rough drafts of your writings with someone whose opinion you trust? Yes. |
 | Do you believe you have already found "your voice" or is that something one is always searching for? My entire life is a search... You can never say that you really have found something. |
 | What discipline do you impose on yourself regarding schedules, goals, etc.? None. I don't believe in dead lines. And when I feel inspired, time flows, the work is going on. |
 | What do you surround yourself with in your work area in order to help your concentrate? Music. |
 | Do you write on a computer? Do you print frequently? Do you correct on paper? What is your process? Yes, I write on the computer and I don't print. I correct on the same way I write. |
 | What sites do you frequent on-line to share experiences or information? None. |
 | What has been your experience with publishers? None. |
 | What are you working on now? I am between works. |
 | What do you recommend I do with all those things I wrote years ago but have never been able to bring myself to show anyone? First of all, why is so necessary to show everything?
Then, you shall do it when you'll really feel prepared to show them. Nobody should ask courage to do something because it is impossible to receive it. Courage in this situation goes hand in hand with the self confidence. Work on your self confidence! Or improve your past work.
And we don't need to write only for others but first of all for ourselves. |
